When the 2008 Clone Wars movie came out, I was incredibly baffled that they gave Anakin a never-before-mentioned padawan. The whole idea seemed like fan fiction to me - if Anakin had a padawan, why would they never be mentioned in ROTS?
This was honestly the main reason I didn't want the Clone Wars show until years later. I ended up liking the Clone Wars show for what it was, and I mostly enjoyed the Ahsoka show too. However I still don't really "buy" the idea that Anakin had a padawan. Maybe it's because I was a big time prequel fan who accepted 1-3 + the 2003 Clone Wars show as canon.
Anybody else feel the same way?
