Even though Ben/Kylo was apart of the dark side, wanting to be like his grandfather vader. He had a good heart, and you could tell he never wanted to kill anyone after he killed his own father. You could see the guilt on his face. As the movies went on, he started Turing to the good side, and you could tell. And as Rey was fighting palpatine, he came to save her, and when she "Died" He used all of his power to bring her back. He lived as Kylo Ren, but died ben solo. And I will always appreciate him for that.

Aye. He was a true Jedi and became one with the Force at the same time as his mother who passed before him, but had been waiting for him not only after she died, but since he fell to the dark side 7 years prior. I hope those two somehow found a little strand of Han's essence and wove together forever and ever in the Force Netherworld as the family they wanted to be. Maybe Anakin helped, having also gathered up a bit of Shmi and Padmé.
But seriously, though. Snoke/Palpatine's abuse of Ben was extreme. How are you supposed to fight against a power that was influencing you even as a fetus and claiming to be your dear friend and proponent before you could think solid thoughts? Poor kid.

Also, I wish I could say my desire to hug Ben is pure. *sweats profusely, while definitely not posting troubling content to AO3* My appreciation for Kylo Ben is extreme, but honestly, the reveal when his took his helmet off in TFA broke me inside.

@SpicetimeContinuum I would love to hug Ben. I wish he could have stayed alive. But, as he died, it brought peace. He died happy.
Yeah, but maybe the saddest possible version of happy. He finally made one friend who wasn't related to him or one of his parents' friends, then he died to save her life. I would say he died more fulfilled and at peace than actually happy, which is also very Jedi of him, really.
Anyway, I could rant and rave about Kylo Ben all year long, but I'll just end by saying that I'm glad you're enjoying Star Wars. This website is an absolutely massive resource for learning more about your favorite characters and where you can see more of them.

@SpicetimeContinuum also as I saw you edited the post, I couldn't agree with you even more . My appreciation for Ben is also extreme. I care for him and his actor. His actor is hilarious, and his character is my comfort character (I know that sounds weird but... i like Anakin too) I wish he had more time on the movies.
Thanks! It seems we are 1000% in agreement here. Kylo Ben is one of the characters whom I have complete loremastery of, so it makes me happy anytime I get to rave about him!
It is fair to say that almost everyone in Star Wars deserved better. It's just a big long epic of abuse and strife and death and hope despite everything. I accidentally deleted a whole bit about Anakin and how worthy of love he is, but I think the previous sentence actually sums it up nearly as well.

I kinda see what parallel you are drawing here.
He died via self sacrifice, just like his grandfather.
True, as a dark sider, he did really awful, terrible things, just like his grandfather.
But his last selfless act is kinda what redeemed him, just like his grandfather.
So he basically became like his grandfather... which is what he wanted all along.
And Rey believed in Ben's inherent goodness, and helped him get redeemed, just like Luke Skywalker once did with is dad.

The Last Jedi I think he was mid until he became Supreme Leader
The Rise of Skywalker kinda dropped him out of the role
I think he should have been developed more to not be in the shadow of Vader but maybe a great successor to him
