I think she was fantastic. Her behavior was spot on with older Leia‘s one: strongwilled; stubborn; enduring; persistent; cheeky; caring; not easy to intimidate.
The actress did an amazing job and she had wonderful chemistry with Ewan McGregor and Jimmy Smits, in my opinion.
The only thing I‘d criticize is that she appeared a bit too clever for her age. But that’s an issue in writing and a minor one.
So, all in all, I thought Leia was both very well written and acted in Kenobi
I thought little Leia was perfect! The actress really looked the part and was within a year of the character's canonical age. Was she extremely smart? Yes? Would you expect anything else of the adopted and birth daughter of very bright people considering that she also had access to the best education in the galaxy? That said, she was also kinda dumb in the same way that all kids are, which I deeply appreciated.
For some reason it seems that people forget that Leia was a PETITE woman. It stands to reason that she was small even as a child. @Revan.73 @StarWarsFanGirl8000 , all you need to do is look at a class picture from any school and see the distribution of heights and physical development. Leia just happens to be a completely normal shorty.
I love Leia at all the three main age groups in which she's been depicted. She was the highlight of the show for me despite my unhealthy obsession with Darth Vader, which is really saying a lot.
@Revan.73 If you spend a lot of time raising and/or working with kids, it can be shocking how differently ones in the same cohort seem to age. Sometimes 9-year-olds look 6, sometimes they look 12, but all that matters is that they are healthy and carefully attended to on an individual basis. Leia was just at the low end of plausible physical development.
This sounds very, very, weird, but if you're still not convinced, you probably haven't spent enough time looking at children or have forgotten those times your teachers lined your class up based on height for "fun" yearbook pictures (I can't be the only one who had to deal with that, right?).
Also, did anyone really think little Leia wasn't going to be adorable? No matter what you personally think of her as an adult, I believe it's universally agreed upon that Leia was at least pleasant-looking, and most people are far cuter as kids than when they're grown.
Well @SpicetimeContinuum is making a point here, I have seen 8th graders that are as short as a second grader or third grader. Not everyone is the same height. People are different.
I found her to be annoying. Ben was supposed to be watching out for luke. He risked Luke's life running off to find leia. Bail was wealthy he couldve hired someone to find her. I didn't hate the show but there were so many flaws and things that didn't make sense
I understand that with franchises you have to have wiggle room over certain details.
Although the idea that Leia was familiar with Obi-Wan (Ben) Kenobi prior to Episode IV is a bit questionable, particularly with how her original message was given. Which I get the circumstances didn't call for a full history lesson, but still. I understand the need of Kenobi to have relations with both Skywalker children, but it didn't need to be covered in a whole series.
I say between four and five
I didn’t expect her to be a major character or to have that much personality
Tbh I didn’t expect these poll results at all. I wondered, since when did people like her character in Kenobi so much? I can get that it fits with that sassiness OT Leia had, but I still couldn’t quite get my finger on how immature and strange she acted throughout all 6 episodes even though this is how she was written to be portrayed due to her age.
^Different perceptions, as it seems.
I personally didn’t think that Leia acted strangely or all that immaturely, especially not for her age
In the end, it all comes down to personal taste.
What do you think?
