Not a contest (for me anyway). Rogue One.

I love Rogue One but Solo just.... feels like it has the heart of a classic Star Wars film. I won't deny that it has flaws, and the overreliance on explaining every single aspect of Han's character and backstory can be an annoyance. However, thematically and in terms of tone, worldbuilding, cinematography, and music, it invokes the original trilogy far more than anything else that Disney has put out (and I say this as someone who is generally a fan of Disney's SW output). Solo is genuinely one of my favorite Star Wars films overall, let alone my favorite spinoff, for these reasons.

It's also just a fun heist movie.

Rouge one cause that was what Star Wars needed. No space wizards(the monk doesn’t count) just a bunch people doing what’s right and dieing for it. Perfection
