Agreed wholeheartedly on Panaka. I'm sure he's made appearances in other Star Wars media, like Sabe aka handmaiden and Queen Amidala's double, but it would have been nice to see such faces at least one time during the Clone Wars. Hell, we saw former Chancellor Valorum, who had far less screentime in Episode I: The Phantom Menace, at least once in TCW series.

San Hill...I guess, yes, but we may as well say that with Passel Argente and Shu Mai. That isn't to say we haven't seen few Separatists, with Nute Gunray, Wat Tambor, and of course Poggle the Lesser. Though there is something to be said that we haven't seen characters beyond one pivotal scene as far as introduction...and hell, that was the scene most fans were introduced to Count Dooku in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, presuming one didn't look through the deleted content, like Jocasta Nu and Obi-Wan in front of Dooku's bust, but I digress.

My personal pick of a character we should have seen? Dex from Dex's Diner. It would have been nice to see another interaction with Obi-Wan's buddy/informant on Coruscant.

There's so many characters who should have been featured in that show, often in connection with potential storylines. I agree about Panaka, he could have been a featured character in a depiction of the Invasion of Theed. Yes there was an invasion of Theed during the Clone Wars, but despite the obvious dramatic potential, it was only featured in one obscure comic. "The Artist of Naboo" from Star Wars Visionaries.

My personal choice would be Siri Tachi. Her activities during the Clone Wars are almost completely unknown, so there's lots of room to feature her in stories. Her skill at undercover assignments could generate some interesting plots. And it would have been great to see some more team-ups between her and Obi-Wan, to set the stage for their final mission.

Another is Nick Rostu from Shatterpoint. He commanded the 44th Division "Rostu's Renegades" which was a mixed division with both clone troopers and other soldiers, their interactions could easily be mined for drama. And there's also his friendship with Mace Windu, they had such a wonderful dynamic that it's a shame we only got to see them together in one book.

Then there's Siri's ex-Padawan Ferus Olin. During the Clone Wars he and his husband Roan Lands ran a business where they helped victims of corrupt businesses create new identities. They could provide a ground-level perspective of the war.

A big one is Jan Dodonna from A New Hope. He was one of the major commanders during the Foerost campaign, which helped turn the fortunes of the Republic from the devastating losses of the second year of the war, to the commanding position they enjoyed during the Outer Rim Sieges.

This isn't even half of them. I could go on all day about characters who could have been featured in the 2008 show.
