He’s just a simple man, trying to make his way in the galaxy.

To echo the above, he's still alive, he just chose to take a step back as a) he's getting on in years now, 80 in May, and b) when he made the decision to sell Star Wars rto Disney, he had not long become a father again, and wanted to spend time raising his daughter without having to work as the head of one of the most iconic franchises on the planet.

On top of that, he is still active as a filmmaker, most recently on the final instalment of the Indiana Jones franchise.

He is living in retirement somewhere
