Yeah but even if Rex is still alive. What role would he have in the show? He would probably just have a cameo. Maybe an emotional reunion. There's just not much that they can do with him at this point in time.

It's sad but I don't see him playing a big part in that era. Or to see it from a different point of view: he can finally be at peace.

Give the old clone a rest. He had to fight in wars for basically his entire adult life. He deserves at least some time to live in retirement.

Frankly, fans wanted him since Season 1. That cameo in TCW vision was nice, but still.
