Mandalorian19, because Hux didn’t necessarily betray the First Order until after Snoke’s death when Kylo Ren took over as the Supreme Leader. But honestly Hux never really cared much about the First Order to begin with. He just wanted power because he grew up being abused by his father Brendol Hux for being “weak.”

But yes, I too dislike Holdo. Characters like Zorii Bliss, Boolio and Babu Frik could have saved the sequels.

Holdo is really bad at people management. Within an hour of taking command half her bridge crew were ready to take part in mutiny. Her inability to inspire any faith in her officers cannot be blamed on Poe.

She didn’t think Poe was a spy, she just believed that there was a spy aboard in general.

I mean she isn’t really a bad character

I think she was fine

But the way The Last Jedi was written is probably the reason why she was hated

If Hux was a spy, why did he command the destruction of an entire star system?

Hux wasn't a spy at that time. He says he switched side because of Kylo Ren.

^Ah. Thanks for explaining it. I just haven't watched the Sequels in a long time, and I don't really understand them or like them that much.

Holdo had legitimate concerns about spies but don’t forget about the people Rose caught trying to abandon ship.

Holdo’s plan depended on the FO not realizing the Resistance had snuck off their ships. But she should have told senior staff there was a plan to keep up moral. Po was right that people needed something to hope for.

If Po hadn’t destroyed the Dreadnought it would have destroyed the Resistance fleet in moments. His attack saved the Resistance. Without it their best chance would have been to scatter the fleet sacrificing whatever ship the FO was tracking.
