It’s my opinion that the next big Star Wars story chronologically, whether that’s the NJO film or otherwise, should feature or star a Hyperspace Navigator.

Between the new Galaxy introduced in Ahsoka, and the threat posed by the First and Final Orders from unexplored space, it’s only natural that, by the point in the timeline we’re at now, the governments and people of the galaxy’s primary concern, beyond re-establishing some form of governance, should be exploring the reaches of the universe, thus necessitating the creation of new hyperspace lanes.

They could draw parallels to real world history via the Space Age, and discovery of the New World by European explorers (and all the good and bad that came with it). The sense of wonder and discovery that often accompanies these narratives would translate wonderfully to a Star Wars protagonist. I’m envisioning some down-on-their-luck pilot with a junky ship stumbling upon a valuable hyperspace lane, and from there being thrust into a sweeping galactic adventure.

These are the things that I think about when I should be focusing on my actual responsibilities lol
