Before the show released, I was 100% in favor of the show being animated. Now, having seen it, I’m down to like 60%.

I think that there are elements of the show that would’ve been lost had it switched mediums. Most notably the physicality Dawson brought to her role, the grandiosity and tangibility of its visuals, and some of the aesthetic markers of the classic samurai films it was emulating.

However, I still would’ve liked to have seen the original voice cast return to their roles, and as someone who simply prefers animation to live action in general, I’m always going to be partial on this subject.
