Welcome to the archive and coordination thread for a series of posts covering recent site Senate Halls, Consensus tracks, and other site matters.
Each week’s new edition will be posted below, so be sure to follow this post to receive notifications for them!
What is a Senate Hall?
The Senate Hall is a site-wide discussion area for topics concerning Wookieepedia. Here, users can suggest new ideas to be implemented on the site in policy. Unlike Discussions, this forum area is specifically for discussing how we can improve the editing side of the site or how we can better craft user-oriented policies to foster a healthy community. Senate Halls automatically archive after one month of no activity.
Anyone can comment on a Senate Hall! To create a post, click here and type your title in the input box, and then click “add new topic.” After a Senate Hall has received comments from other Wookieepedians, if there is agreement amongst editors, a Consensus track can be made to vote on the proposed change.
What is a Consensus track?
A Consensus track is where formal votes are held on Wookieepedia to change policies, decide on infobox images for characters in cases of disputes, and other matters in which consensus is required. To be eligible to vote on a Consensus track, you must have made 50 edits to Wookieepedia articles within the last six months.
Consensus tracks are almost always opened after opinions on the issue at hand have been discussed in the Senate Hall first. To create a post, click here and type your title in the input box, and then click “add new topic.” For a record of all past Consensus tracks and their outcomes, check here!
What is a Trash compactor?
The Trash compactor is where Wookieepedians discuss whether an article should be deleted, kept, restored, or redirected to another article. To be eligible to vote on a Trash compactor, you must have made 50 edits to Wookieepedia articles within the last six months.
