I'm staring to feel like I'm in the minority.
In fairness, I was 23 in 2000 and I had other stuff on my mind. Maybe I didn't have the connection with the Legends books that I would have if I'd read them when I was a kid.
Oops, this is one case I clicked too soon. I voted 1970-1979 by mistake, when I actually think the peak happened elsewhere. I want to say overall I would vote 1980-1989.
Out of all the Star Wars content, I feel Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are still arguably the best movies in the entire franchise...maybe. Speaking as someone who does rank Revenge of the Sith as my #1. On that note, I would consider 2000-2009 my runner-up vote, simply because of the bias of that being when I became a fan myself. Although, not gonna lie, I'd also be tempted to vote 2010-2019 because that is when George Lucas sold Star Wars to Disney, which for better or worse, had some fans excited for what was to come. And hell, some of the best stuff, or at least some of my favorite moments, came from The Clone Wars, Rebels, and of course the other arguably best Star Wars movie: Rogue One.
When Grogu ( #babyyoda ) appeared.
In the 2000s with Revenge of the Sith and The Clone Wars
I love the prequels and the originals with my whole heart, but as a prequel fan, getting to see not only Obi-Wan, but also Ahsoka, Tales of the Jedi, season 7 of the Clone Wars AND The Bad Batch, I feel like I've just got more content to obsess over for the prequels, plus Andor connects to Rogue One and A New Hope so well that I can't help but love it too. That's why my vote goes to 2020-2024 I can relate everything we learn about these characters and times to the trilogy movies, which makes for a really fun time.
I love plotting, scheming, connecting dots, etc., so seeing what Lucasfilm has been giving us has been a real treat. What a time to be alive!
I picked the 2020s for a simple reason: community.
In India, there isn't a big SW community - we might have numbers, but that's a tiny proportion of the population. Marvel is the bigger Western import. You'll hear hundreds, if not, thousands of people talk about it, not SW. As an indicator, TROS got no special treatment, but Infinity war and Endgame had grand premiere events.
The 2020s gave me something I value: a place I can talk about SW with other like-minded folk, overanalyse it, and air out my crackpot theories.
