Anakin and Obi-Wan really sound like their Clone Wars versions

^ They are. The voice lines were lifted from Lego Star Wars. And there’s also a few moments where Hayden’s screams were taken from ROTS.

This is really well done. I have to commend them for taking some liberties with the duel and not just doing a shot for shot remake. Those subtle differences really pay off. I also appreciate how the lightsabers feel a lot heavier compared to TCW. Duels in the actual show feel fluid and elegant, but in this film there’s real weight to every strike, which feels a bit odd when juxtaposed with those super skinny, OT/Rebels style lightsabers. Not a combo I’ve ever seen before, but I kinda like it.

If I were to give any minor criticism, it would be that Vader sort of stuck out like a sore thumb. The sheen on his helmet really didn’t fit with the scene and made him look like he was rendered in a completely different style since the TCW art doesn’t show highlights like that. I know they were probably just mirroring how he looked in the PT when his armor was brand new, but I still feel like they could’ve given him a bit more of a matte black coloring instead of the hyper reflective one.

But I’m nitpicking. This was excellent and really has me craving a fully animated version of ROTS that splices in the Siege of Mandalore.

The cold open from the unfinished Utapau arc was brilliant. Not kidding when I say it's on the level of the cold open of "Ozymandias" in Breaking Bad—an episode coincidentally directed by Rian Johnson, which is pretty cool.

I hadn't followed the updates about this video aside from knowing it was in the works, so for a while I was pretty skeptical of what it could really accomplish. All of those doubts flew out the window when Obi-Wan ignited his lightsaber and the sound effect was brand new. I knew I was in for something special.

The added scenes really enhance the whole duel, as they help make the sequence more engaging in the same way the film intercuts with Yoda's duel with Sidious. Someone in the comments pointed out that Anakin dropping his lightsaber between his hands comes from the original choreography for his duel with Dooku at the beginning of the film. Speaking of Rian Johnson, I wonder if that could've been the inspiration behind Rey pulling off the same move in The Last Jedi's throne room fight.

My expectations were blown out of the water by this. The blend between matching the film's scenes, adding new ones, and paying homage to other niche details is seamless and can only come from creators who actually know their stuff about Star Wars. They went above and beyond with their research, and I can't express just how good the final production is.
