I notice that (based off the EU and what people are insinuating before I tell them to stop spoiling character archetypes for me from Ahsoka) Thrawn behaves before and after the fragmentation of his fellow Imperial officials beloved regime and it's tributaries such as the Senex Sector, CSA, Tion Hegemony etc.
Is very suspicious based off what I can compare and contrast between the Trailer, EU, and Rise of Skywalker plus it's sourcebooks. I have a gut feeling Thrawn isn't blinded by power or foolishly inspired by the remaining ethical entrails of the New Order or ever was.
In Thrawn Alliances and further novels I feel like the stories hinted at what could possibly be his ambition or motive.
I highly doubt the end game of Thrawn's idealogical run is going to be aligned with the Authoritarians leaning populace in the Star Wars Galaxy and also, (despite the staunch lingering of the rigid, bleak, and xenophobic First Galactic Empire's moral tenet approach and intricately woven sicophant ridden system)
I am hoping his inner circle realizes this like Eli Vanto or Captain Pellaeon or even Ar'alani and the Syndics of the Ascendancy.
I hope this supposed Mandoverse does not fall into the trap of good vs bad only being two factions.
Star Wars is franchising to new stories assuming everything is OK in Hollywood and other international studio Hubs and I can't stand personally the two, three, four faction dynamic; The Skywalker Saga is over and it should be less about Evil Incarnate (Palpatine) vs Upholding lightness and good values on a universal scale and more about complex or simple villains, intermediary characters "anti heroes who follow no moral guidelines but act on their own accord", questioning/developing characters and of course simple and complex heroes.
Hopefully things are written on a more localized scale or theater of battle/conflict.
Nonetheless I will always love you Star Wars, no matta what 🙏🏾🫡
