Finn should have been the main character/Protagonist of the sequel trilogy instead of Rey?

I feel like Finn had a better drive then Rey, (and that’s not my anti-Rey talking either) as he actually had a backstory. With some work, I would say yes, Finn would be great as the main character, but not as he is now

I personally think they should have been equally important protagonists. Finn's development could have been written better but that doesn't mean that he should have also replaced Rey as protagonist. As @KristianwithK says, both of them could have been written better.

I would agree because I felt like he had more potential. Plus the start of his story being a defector of the First Order was a great start for his arc. In addition he was supposed to be a Jedi which would have been cool. Overall I have to say Finn would been great as the main protagonist
