Ok so as we all know Order 66 was a devastating blow to the Jedi Order resulting in the deaths of countless Jedi Knights, Padawans, and Younglings. Of course such a tragic end would have been easily avoidable had the Jedi you know… were smart.
Ok so how about instead of dropping dead after a mysterious Sith Lord issued Order 66 the Jedi use their obedient slave army to save themselves? Well in this Hypothetical you’ll be that one in a million smart Jedi so the only question that you’ll have to ask is which Detachment would you utilize?
The 212th Attack Battalion
The 212th Attack Battalion, a Battalion of the 7th Sky Corps, is a Clone formation renowned across the Galaxy for their specialization in planetary invasions, frontal attacks, and besiegement operations. While certainly skilled they’re probably not going to help you much in Order 66 as they’re more offensive grunts than a protection squad. So we’ll have to nix them.
The Galactic Marines
Now not much is known about these guys aside that they are specialized in boarding operations of enemy Star Ships as well as planetary assaults. Here’s the thing though they may be useful in Order 66 because you as a Jedi can have them hijack some civilian vessel to hide from Palpatine, preferably something like a Elementary School Starship or a medical vessel. As a result of that we can’t necessarily toss them out but if you have weird moral problems with “civilian casualties” then these are probably not your guys.
The Wolf Pack
Ok so these guys may be perfect for Order 66 because these fellas specialize in difficult personnel extractions so they can most definitely cover your hide while you heroically perform your strategic retreat. The only problem? They’re furries… gross.
501st Legion
One of the oldest and most effective Clone Troopers, collectively jacks of all traits but master of none the 501st are the model clone formation that can easily adapt any terrain and any battle situation. These guys would probably be the ideal Jedi defenders. In fact they’d probably still be a Jedi Temple had the Jedi effectively utilized their resources instead of just letting Order 66 happen.
