They probably didn’t think a ton about it. But I’ve heard from some people there who watched it when it was new and most people seemed to assume it was some war the Jedi fought against clones. So it was kind of a curveball thrown at fans, I suppose.

Yeah it seemed implied the clones were the enemy and they appeared in the legends Thrawn trilogy. Personally I prefer it that way. The Yuzan Vong is named for who the enemy is

Alot of us thought it was a war of cloned jedi that went dark.

I thought it was Jedi vs Clone.

I didn't know what the clones were but assumed evil alien.

I was too young to know what a clone was when I first saw Star Wars
