Tell me what you think please.
^Thank you Red.
Legends fans: they copied legends!
Also legends fans: they should have used more legends!
^Correction
Legends Fans: if they are going to copy Legends why copy bad Legends?
Also Legends Fans: They should’ve never gotten rid of Legends.
^Also that.
^Lol and you know what I’ll admit it. It describes me.
Many people forget that as far as Legends was concerned Dark Empire's author didn't originally plan for the bad guy to be Palpatine but a guy running around pretending to be Vader if I remember correctly. The author has stated in interview that Palpatine returning was Lucas's idea during the writing/drafting phase.
Y'know, this brings up an interesting point:
Legends is a solid example of the diminishing effects of Sturgeon's Law (roughly speaking, 90% of anything created is just terrible) because yeah, there's a lot of Legends that's... questionable.
But there's also enough of Legends that's just good that it doesn't really matter because there's so much of it.
10% of a massive pool is still a big number.
By contrast, owing to how comparatively new Disney's Canon is, there's just not enough of it to be judged all that well, so the bad parts stick out way more, particularly since the most divisive bits are the ones with the most exposure.
Like, honestly with the exception of TBOBF Disney has been killing it with the Star Wars shows, the current comics run is awesome, and there's a ton of other non-movie stuff that's great.
The trouble is that, at least for me personally, the Sequels themselves, which should've probably formed the core of this media, just... couldn't do that.
@Red5T65 Well, first off, Legends was easily above that 10% being "good" mark. Hell, I'd argue easily 40% was way better than the Kenobi show that you just implied was "killing it", and probably another 30% that was about on par with it. In fairness the remaining 30% was definitely far worse.
As to the live action shows. Thus far we have Mandalorian that is good, Kenobi that is a like it or face palm (maybe both to some), and Book of Boba Fett the was definitely (and to put this mildly) not on par.
Overall I'd say Legends was definitely beating Sturgeon's Law 90% being "crap", but the term is fairly accurate to current continuity. For every Mandalorian or Jedi: Fallen Order we get very controversial at the very least stories.
^Agree 100%.
Well, Dark Empire was written years before the Chosen One Concept was even invented, and it still managed to be more respectful towards Anakin's Legacy.
What do you think?
