Personally hit and miss for me. Love the characters love the bounty episodes but didn’t appreciate the depiction of imperials and the various missed story opportunities.

One of the best Star Wars series for me. just losing to The Clone Wars.

S1 was definitely better than the second for me. Out of 10 I’d say an 8 for the whole show. Certain things were off, but a decent show nonetheless for sure,

I found the show really enjoyable so far, especially the first season. It was pretty entertaining watching Mando go on different missions, just making his way in the universe. What I liked about the first season in particular is that it wasn't dominated all that much by longer arcs. Arcs are often interesting and serve character development but I also like seeing invidual episodes that aren't as closely connected to each other. I feel like they bring out different aspects and conflicts of the protagonist's life - not really something whole character arcs do since they are focussed on one theme.

Another reason I liked The Mandalorian is that the producers also managed to insert the family-theme that's prevalent in many different SW-media; just not in the usual way of Din getting in a relationship etc. but him adopting a baby and this father-son-duo experiencing adventures together.

So, action and found family. Another bonus point is that it's made in live action (nothing against the animated shows but it's nice to see a live action-show for once)

Oh, and of course, Palpatine is negative as always in these polls, lol

Love it! Even if you aren't the biggest fan, you can't deny the impact it's had not just uniting the fanbase, but putting SW back on the pop culture map. You have no idea how many of my friends have come up to me asking how to watch all the movies after Mando came out, it's great.

And as a show, it also appeals to both the hardcore fan ( with lore, cameos) but also the casual fan (Grogu). It might not seem like much, but that's something they've been struggling a bit with.

And the story is also really good. Like, REALLY good.

I've been a SW fan since 1977, but I only ever watched the movies; didn't read any novels or comics or whatever. After watching season 1 of The Mandalorian, I watched TCW to get the backstory of the black light saber and the Mandalorian stuff and eventually watched Rebels and then all the new Disney+ series.

To make a long story short (too late!) I loved The Mandalorian so much that I now watch all the tv shows.

I say The Mandalorian is a great show

Overall, I’d say the Mandalorian is pretty good. The first season is phenomenal, as it introduced us to a full cast of new characters, told an excellent story, and subtlety nodded to the movies and TCW expertly. The second season was ok. 3/4 of the cast were cameos, which is fine, but I liked the fresh style the first season had, and I wish it had stayed “far from the reach of the New Republic” like it promised. The first half of the second season is also a bit formulaic to me. Overall, though, it’s one of the better things that has come out of the Star Wars franchise.

Pretty good.
