^^ She was, and a great character too. Read the original Thrawn Trilogy or possibly Allegiance and Choices of One to get to know her more. Once you get into her character, you'll really like her I think.

Mara jade. Anakin made it but to him it was just his weapon. I love Luke having the lightsaber as it gave him a connection to his father and began his Jedi journey. But Mara Jade’s ownership felt right. Her gaining the Skywalker saber was a great moment in the last command and it began her journey to a new life. One of friends and family and a new purpose as one of the greatest jedi in the order.

^^ I didn't include Grievous and Obi-Wan specifically because this is about Legends characters who actually used the lightsaber. On the article about it, it lists Obi-Wan as an owner, not a user. I'm happy to fill you, or really anyone, in on Mara or Legends Anakin and Luke as much as I can but let's not get off-topic by making a whole list of characters not even related to the poll. It's just a waste of time tbh.

Favorite weilder of the Skywalker lightsaber:

1. Mara Jade Skywalker - she literally used it for 31 years and it symbolizes Luke's forgiveness of her previous attempts to kill him because he recognized that it was literally mind control and not her own feelings, that she overcame by herself and risked her life to save him and his family repeatedly. Luke gave up his family heirloom to the person who saved his family because she'd needed it to become a Jedi. It showed both Luke and Mara's growth as characters. To Mara it was both a sign of being accepted, later loved, and a lesson in not clinging to the past. It meant more to her than her own personally constructed lightsaber, and to her what it meant was true for all her life, unlike the next entry.

2. Luke Skywalker - the saber literally became famous because it was his first from an audiences perspective. Plus I loved the symbolism of Luke losing the Saber to his father at the same time his father destroyed Luke's beliefs in his father dying a betrayed hero.

3. Anakin Skywalker - I mean he made it... but that's really it. He had other sabers before and after it. To him it was just his weapon. Nothing really special. Do I like his character, obviously, but this question to me is more about who the Saber is most important to and to Anakin, it wasn't more than just a weapon that he could replace.

4. Luuke Skywalker - He's not really a character but a plot device.
