This is where the Fun Begins
Where do I start with this episode? This was the best episode of the series so far. The pacing was pitch-perfect, the cinematography was rather good.
The Opening duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan, I think, is a great example of their differing philosophies to combat, Anakin was very much a product of the Clone-Wars, and the tensions thereof, while Obi-Wan was a product of an earlier, more peaceful age. Again, an amazing scene, the duel itself was rather underwhelming, the fight felt a little stiff, but that could be chalked up to training and Obi-Wan going easy on Anakin.
The most prevalent theory of Reva knowing about Vader's identity was vindicated, either I was condition to see it that way. or they really did not play it off as a twist in any way.
The scenes of Obi-Wan, shall I say, manipulating Reva was well done, the dialogue was what sold me on the encounter.
The Show, I think, makes Vader feel like a serious threat, the hulking-behemoth walk he does is menacing in the right degree, a way of signaling that one does not need to rush.
The starship switch felt a little cheap, but I'll take what comes. But Man, Vader was cool in that scene.
Reva Betraying Vader was something I could see from a mile away, but perhaps the show wanted that to happen, to show that she was really just small fry believing herself to be large. But man! Vader just demolishing her was a perfect scene, he plays with her, making her believe that she really had a chance against a Sith Lord.
Him giving her one half of her lightsaber really solidified that, he wanted her to think that she could best him, but alas, she was weak, a pitiful rat thinking she could lord the house, realising too late that she was trapped, thrown away to the gutter once more.
I honestly don't understand why the episode made a big deal of the Grand Inquisitor returning, I never doubted his death.
My ranking:
9/10
