💬 [Speculation/Debate] I feel like Darth Bane should have come back for Episode 9.

So let's say when Darth Bane died after he created the Rule of Two, he preserved his soul on Exegol and prepared an army. The remaining Sith would carry out his Dark Side plans until Palpatine comes into the Sith line. Palpatine becomes the Emperor and secretly, him and Plagueis got their ultimate plan from Bane, since he had centuries to plan. But eventually, Palpatine dies and the Empire is dissolved. So Bane gets Plagueis' DNA and tries to create Snoke, but the experiment goes slightly wrong. The First Order is formed from Imperial Remnants and children from before the First Order. When the First Order dominates enough of the Galaxy, Bane reveals himself. Basically, Episode 9 plays out but with Bane as the Sith (and less cringe). How's that as a thought?

Darth Bane wouldn't have made any sense because his story wouldn't feel whole

Due to the fact that not many fans know about the character if they didn't read anything Legends. In addition him coming back would be weird.

Palptaine made sense because he was already known by fans so Palptaine was a better choice than Bane

no man for sure not... for me Palpatine would definitely be the best choice because he's been the main villain of the Skywalker Saga since The Phantom Menace and that's why the saga had to end with him as the main villain. that's why neither Bane nor Plagueis, even because they have almost no involvement in the overarching story of the 9 films.

I like Darth Bane as much as the next guy, but I feel like the literal last thing TROS needed was another irrelevant Sith Lord shoehorned into a story already struggling to maintain even the slightest sliver of cohesion.
