Tbh, there is no point hating on the sequels, you getting 0 percent out of it, just keep your opinions to yourself.
^^^^^^Thank you, @VaderBoyee
Hopefully you understand the irony of using the PT as a benchmark for film quality.
The clip is from UK comedy series Spaced, made not long after TPM.
^Pretty funny.
Haha! Mostly really funny but also not. Last one was more of an analysis picking on the bad parts of the sequels rather than appreciating pretty much everything else.
@Ctmeh I'm not gonna bother with the clip, since we don't need to prove ourselves on how the Prequels are great. At least George wanted to tell an original story, and you can tell by the all the BTS that that's what he wanted to do, despite Jar Jar being a moneymaker concept. The ST was just a big moneygrab to overplease fans. But I'm not going to argue.
A bit sneaky that, arguing and then saying you weren't going to argue. Hey ho, no argument.
Interesting memes. Not all of them are very accurate, though, in my opinion.
I personally thought Kylo wasn't such a bad villain overall. There were several parts where I found him intimidating, especially in TLJ. And, come on, a comparison to Vader is almost unfair given that Vader is one of the greatest and most iconic cinematic villains in general, lol. Although, when it comes to Hux, I could never take him serious, either. But Pryde made up for that.
"Completely original and did not take 90% of it's plot from the OT". I'm not a big fan of TLJ myself but, to be fair, I would apply this criticism to TFA rather than to TLJ.
"Made by the original creator of Star Wars". This doesn't apply to Rogue One, Solo, The Mandalorian, and the other upcoming shows, either... So, not necessarily something that impacts the quality.
"Is a Meme goldmine" Not something that makes a movie automatically good, at least not to me. So, not necessarily something that speaks for ROTS.
Your last meme essentially compares the one movie that's generally considered to be the best PT-movie to the most controversial ST-movie. But what if you compared TLJ to TPM or ATOC? 🤔 (for the record, I'm a PT-fan myself, I loved all parts of the PT unironically from the beginning, but the comparison between TLJ and ROTS seems rather biased).
Making fun of SW-plots is kind of a tradition, I guess, since the PT-movies were released. And the ST is certainly not alone in this regard, seeing as that there are plenty of memes making fun of the PT, as well. So, I guess, those memes in general are not necessarily a problem. It's satire, after all. But some of this criticism doesn't seem all that fair to me
Having grown up with the originals on VHS/rerelease-improved THX (Han shot first!), watching prequels in theaters (or other popular methods to watch them at that time), and then the final 3. There is a lot of flaws in the stories, but each has a time and place in our joint love of space opera. If there were light-saber-chucks I’d be around more often. 😀
I do agree that it has its flaws, but so do all of the movies. Just using the flaws of the sequels is a crap excuse to not like them.
