2 words Mara Jade.
Dark Nest trilogy: (technically New Jedi Order era but it doesn't narratively work as it, so I consider it Legacy era). Is a dreadful stupid storyline and basically it's biggest event is just Luke watching Revenge of the Sith. 2/10
Legacy of the Force: It completely gaslighted retconned Jacen Solo, Vergere, Tahiri Veila, into characters they never were just to recycle Revenge of the Sith. It wasted so many great characters just to give us one of the dumbest storylines out there and the worst written major event post RotJ. War authors and authors backstabbing another author. When they retconned the EU it was because of this series that I saw it as a potentially a very positive thing as it deserved to be decanonized. -8/10
Fate of the Jedi: overall it has a few salvageable bits, but it really wasted them too. Of the new characters in this era Allana Solo and Vestara Khai had potential but this series really proved they had no idea what to do with them. Allana just becomes a plot device and they threw out Vestara's character like trash. 3/10
Crucible: Basically the dumbest possible final book for Luke, Han, and Leia. 2/10
Legacy Comics vol 1: Basically the saving grace of this era. Good beginning and end, pretty flat middle that relies on other series to carry it. I don't like on general principle the idea that Luke's order basically gets nearly wiped out by Sith less than 100 years later again though. 7/10
Legacy comics vol 2 It could have been great as it has a very fun idea but rushed ending due to EU ending. 5/10
Overall: This era is so bad that I don't consider it anything more than Infinities "what-if" storylines. With "Denningverse" (Dark Nest through Crucible) to basically just be godawful fan fiction on par with the Sequels. The Legacy comics are actually fun Infinities imho but definitely not part of my headcanon. I consider this whole era basically the start of Lucasfilm no longer caring about continuity (as around this same point we got TCW, The Force Unleashed and SWTOR, all of which basically retconned the EU to hell too) and just milking the cow before they slaughtered it. The real Expanded Universe, imho, ended with the New Jedi Order series, because that's when they stopped caring about continuity and just was an incredible conclusion point to it too. Anyways the Legacy era is systemic result of big problems at Lucasfilm at the end of Lucas's era, where basically all the creators realized it wasn't part of Lucas's headcanon, so they could throw it all out and do whatever they wanted instead.
My favourite era. No question.
"I don't care" wasn't given as an option, but that's my answer. I know it exists, I don't hate it, I'm just not interested.
^ If your not interested you didn't have to comment, Im not gonna give an option for something that should be common sense.
@Shambala108 You’re really making a habit of pointing out that you’re not interested in legends. There’s no need to keep doing it on every legends post you come across though. If you’re not interested in legends discussions then please don’t comment on it especially when the option your looking for isn’t available.
Well if people are offended by me commenting I'll just stop. I come on here once or twice a day and comment on whatever posts interest me. And it seems the polls are here to ask people's opinions, whether like or dislike of something. But since people have such thin skins about my comments, that'll be the end of it.
@Shambala108 Please don’t take my response out of context. All I’m saying is that on several posts that are entirely about legends (which is something you’ve said that you have no interest in), there’s no need to continuously state that you don’t care about legends. Anyways let’s just move on and please don’t assume just because we responded to your comment here that you have to ask for permission on other posts that contain a topic of your interest. I just don’t want this to become a problem for people who are fans of legends. I’m sorry if I offended you in anyway.
^Look, it's not a problem. I've been on wikis where anyone can comment on any post and didn't realize it was different here. I'm still learning the ropes here. Now I know that I should only comment on things that I actually like. So no offense taken.
I also apologize for any offense taken I don't want to run you off this fandom or anything. I do find it best to comment under things I enjoy as it avoids any negativity. I hope this experience does not sour any futher encouters we may have.
