Tied with the legends New Republic era for my favorite era in Star Wars. Seeing Luke and Leia’s children come into their own especially during the Yuuzhan Vong war is just a joy to read. I must also give a shout out to my boy Chewbacca. He had such a badass and heartbreaking death but he went out saving his nephew Anakin. I felt so bad for Han but despite the pain he felt he didn’t abandon the New Republic and I can’t praise him enough for that.

This era is definitely my preferred era for Jacen’s character. He was wise beyond his years and he strove to show compassion for all life in the galaxy, even the Yuuzhan Vong. He was literally the Qui Gon Jinn of the New Jedi order. God if only their was a tv series or a comic series on his character, I’d by it in a heartbeat. The Yuuzhan Vong were terrifying warriors and tbh they’re the scariest species in Star Wars for me.

Luke’s legends Jedi order continues to amaze me the more I read up on novels in this era. Unlike his canon characterization, he didn’t repeat the mistakes of his predecessors and he knew how to instruct his order to perform their duties as Jedi without cutting ties with their loved ones.

I love the horror aspect of this novel series and the character developemt of each character. One of my favorite aspects of the series is having everyone in the galaxy join toghether that is so cool to see, plus the decision Luke has to make to join in the war or keep the Jedi out. I haven't gotten to read all of it yet but where I am I love it alot and can't wait to read onwards, it is defiantly already one of my favorite eras to the point where I mix this and the New Republic era toghether so its one.

^I find myself switching my number one favorite era between New Republic and NJO. They’re both so good and I just get so giddy at the legends Skywalker and Solo family in these eras. I also love Luke’s struggles to involve his order in the war especially given that he knows what war did to his father and Yoda’s order. I also love how Ben Skywalker was born through Mara being cured of her illness. If only we could get a horror tv series centered on Yuuzhan Vong! That would honestly knock all these Star Wars Disney plus shows out of the water.

Well actually thats not the NJO era either that would be the new republic era , but like swatt said this era only exists in Legends. Also I bet you would really enjoy the NJO era if you gave it a try its just fantastic.
