Does anyone here know all seven forms of lightsaber combat?
Am I the only one who wants to learn them?
And do I just need to know the moves or do I need to know the history behind each move as well?

The lightsaber forms are
Shii-cho
Makashi
Soresu
Ataru
Djem so/shien
Niman
Juyo/vaapad
Three rings of defense(new Jedi order)
All force users know and have mastered at least 1 form. So I’d definitely know and practice them in Star Wars as well. Although I don’t think the history or moves history is important as the movement and moves themselves the legends description of each form has a bit more detail and history. And some forms have a real life equivalent such as makashi =fencing, djem so = kendo, and ataru = resembles shaolin Sword fighting and other acrobatic sword arts.
I would assume cin dralig, dooku, windu, Yoda, and/palpatine
Nobody here knows all 7 forms of a fake, made up sword fighting style, lol. C’mon.
Funny story, i actually want to learn them too lmaoo
I'm sure some of the types are based on actual historical and modern sword fighting techniques. I'm not a professional in any regard of melee combat, nor do I have any skill in performing such skills. But I believe George Lucas did say some versions of light saber combat are based on Japanese samurai fighting techniques, others included Roman and northern European combat forms. I think there are some based around native American combat (based on their use of axes not swords), however I cannot provide 100% proof of that one. If you just watch the duelling scenes of the movies, you'll see the different variations. I also believe (though I'm not certain) their are A LOT of different fighting styles in asian culture, which is demonstrated in the duel bladed light saber (mauls for example). I'd you watch the behind the scenes of star wars the phantom menece, they do cover a bit about combat styles.
That was my rambling opinion and point of view so take it with a grain of salt, my fat fingers cannot type very well, and spell check hates me
What do you think?
