Welcome back, today we have a full slate of material to review and break down, so let's get right into it!!!
The Black Widow
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/La_Veuve_Noire
No, not Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. Black Widow, AKA La Veuve Noire, was an unlicensed RPG source material published in Avalon #2, only in France. Special thanks to my friend: DarrenZKoala, for hooking me up with a copy/paste of the translated story material. This is older material, taking place before the prequels, making some of the information regarding the republic and the empire a little shaky. Unfortunately, there are a couple contradictions here, contradictions that could Easily be retconned, but a couple continuity wrinkles none-the-less. The most interesting part of this story, in my opinion, is a botanical-based plant species introduced called the Sylphe, pictures above. They have powers similar to those of Jedi and a detailed and interesting account was given of their species. Mon Mothma (misspelled, LOL) was also given mention here. This story material takes place best around pre-Prequels days, with Mon Mothma being mentioned as a sort of senator at this time. I would say it is very skipable, and dubiously canon to Legends, but I still really enjoyed the new alien species content we received, nonetheless.

Lanius Qel-Bertuk Recordings:

(Since there is no page for this short story on the Wook, I linked to the character instead.) Another of those Jedi memoir recordings from Ryder Windham's 2007 Essential Guide to the Force, we have already covered dozens of these, and there are so many. One of the shorter ones, this one barely taking up half a page, this makes a cool connection and is one of my favorites. Ryder Windham, master of continuity, took a Jedi introduced and utillized in numerous WOTC source material and sourcebooks. A completely forgettable character, and used him to summarize some interesting and exciting events. This one is entertaining. Two thumbs up, Ryder.

Jedi: The Dark Side
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Jedi%E2%80%94The_Dark_Side?so=search
Man, how cool this was. This 6 issue comic series from Dark Horse connects to a series I will be reviewing later, called Jedi Apprentice, which happens to be a children's book series for young kids. Yet the amazing wonder that is the EU, gave us connections from a comic for adults to a children's book series. Marking the 1st chronological appearance of Xanatos, an important character later on, I loved reading this for the connection. This features Qui-Gon and his first apprentice: Xanatos, dealing with Xanatos's corrupt and wealthy father, who seduces Xanatos to a vengeance filled side. This explains the back story of Xanatos and is based off of little flashbacks and monologues from the later kids series recounting the events. The artwork is good, and the cover art work is REALLY good. This shows Qui-Gon and Xanatos's duel, and the branded scar that Xanatos gets that will later be his identifying and menacing badge of evil. I just wish that we had gotten 6 more issues to flesh the characters out more, and tell more than recounting flash backs with new bits of detail here and there. Overall, really fun though.
