Awhile back, I made a post detailing what I thought would be some good DLC ideas for the new Lego Star Wars game. But I recently had another thought, a DLC level pack (which Lego has done before) on the Rebels Twilight of the Apprentice episodes. Why this? Because I feel it would fit the preexisting 5 mission structure of Skywalker saga well, introduce new characters and vehicles, and give the animated series more representation. But with that out of the way, I’ll break my idea down into sections starting with.
Overview:
New characters- Kanan Jarrus (normal, blinded, Temple Guard Helmet), Ezra Bridger, Ahsoka Tano (Rebels), Chopper, Darth Maul (Old Master, Old Master no hood), Fifth Brother, Seventh Sister, Eighth Brother,
Side Quest only character- Hera, Sabine, Zeb, Old Rex, Grand Inquisitor (Dark Side, Temple Guard).
Planet- Malachor
Ships-TIE Advanced V1, Phantom.
Side Quest only Ship- Darth Maul’s Nightbrother, Phantom 2.
Levels (note, I don’t have any clever level names):
Mission 1- You play as Ahsoka, Kanan, and Ezra as they just arrive on Malachor as they try and catch a fleeing Eighth Brother. It will play out similarly to the Phasma boss in the Last Jedi level where you need to use the environment to take him down. Eventually, you would play as Chopper who has taken control of Eighth Brother’s TIE and deal the finishing blow to him. After the mission, Ezra is separated and the TIE Advanced V1 becomes available to unlock. The miniship for this mission is also the TIE Advanced V1.
Mission 2 (Ideally, this mission title would be another Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul reference to keep with that theme for Maul)- You play as Maul and Ezra as the navigate the Sith Temple. Avoiding traps and eventually obtaining the Sith Holocron. The Holocron will eventually be used as a key to open the doors back out of the temple. After the mission, the miniship unlock would be Maul’s Nightbrother. No characters or ships.
Mission 3- You play as Kanan, Ahsoka, Ezra, and Maul in a 4 v 3 boss fight against each of the Inquisitors. It would be similar to the Praetorian Guard and Sovereign Protector/Knights of Ren fight in the sequels where each Inquisitor is a section of the health bar. After the fight, the Inquisitors flee and the miniship reward is the Phantom (I’m out of ideas for miniships).
Mission 4- You play as the same 4 characters as they scale the outside of the temple. The groups are separated into Ezra and Maul and Kanan and Ahsoka. After finishing their puzzle, Ezra and Maul have a fight with the Seventh Sister. After Kanan and Ahsoka finish their puzzle, they fight the Fifth Brother. Finally, after the two groups reunite, they all fight the Eighth Brother. After the mission, Ezra goes up to the top, Maul betrays the group and blinds Kanan, and all of the Inquisitors are available to unlock and the miniship is the ISD Chimera (got to include Thrawn somehow).
Mission 5 (I think a cool title for this one would be “A Tale of Two Siths” based on the Charles Dickens book “A Tale of Two Cities”)- The party will be separated into two groups, Ashoka and Ezra fight Vader at the top of the temple while Kanan (with the Temple Guard mask) and Chopper (who arrived in the Phantom just before) fight Maul. I know this isn’t exactly how it went in the show but just roll with it. After the mission, Kanan (Blinded and Temple Guard Mask) become available for unlock. The miniship reward would be the Sith Temple because if a Gonk Droid can be a ship so can this.
Side Quests:
As part of the open world, Malachor would have 2 character related side quests. The first is given by the spirit of the Grand Inquisitor (the good one) who wants you to defeat his evil half so his spirit can be set free. This pulls from the Star Wars comic run where Luke fights the spirit of the GI who Vader condemned to haunt a Jedi Temple. After fighting him and reporting back, both GI’s become available to unlock. As a quick note, I think it would be funny if during the fight, evil GI comments how his head shape is off, referencing how fans reacted to his look in Kenobi. The second mission is given by Hera who wants you to find Sabine, Zeb, and Rex after they get separated. After finding them, all of them (including Hera) become available to unlock.
Ok that’s it. But just one more thing. All the Rebels VAs would reprise their role. Mando Ahsoka will get a voice (voiced by Ashley Eckstein) and the GI will be voiced once again by Jason Issacs during his quest.
