Kanan is the ultimate Jedi knight for me
Kanan easily. I love his development from a reluctant padawan to a resolute and badass blind Jedi Knight. I also love his relationship with Hera and how he didn’t let his emotions regarding her get the best of him in the same way Anakin did. Ezra didn’t start becoming a good character for me till the second half of season 3. Hopefully he’ll be more mature in Ahsoka.
I always liked Kanan, while I didn't start liking Ezra until season 3. Plus I love Kanan's arc and his death was seriously so sad. While I'm not the biggest fan of the name choice, it's so great that he had a son to keep the legacy going, he and Hera are one of the best couples imo.
Kanan for sure. Pretty much exactly as @Swatteam123 says, but I also want to add that his humor is a great characteristic.
Simply put, Kanan is an underrated Jedi and probably my favorite hero in the series whereas Ezra was incredibly frustrating.
Ezra Bridger is my personal favorite
But I like Kanan Jarrus as well
Ezra's character was what made the rebels show not the best for me, while Kanan was one of the best parts of the show
I honestly love both of them but I'm going with Ezra since I think he's an underrated character and showed great development throughout the whole show. He starts out as a cocky, disrespectful, orphaned loner; used to fight for himself, not relying on anyone since his family was taken away from him; only fending for himself. But when he meets the Ghost Crew and observes their interactions among each other and towards others, he longs to be part of this group, part of another family, part of a greater cause. During the whole show, he grows both in age and maturity and wisdom. There are some setbacks to his growth - like during his arc between Season 2 and 3 where he is attracted to the dark side and turns arrogant and reckless - but those setbacks are temporary and make his character more realistic, in my opinion. In the end, he's a calm, patient, selfless Jedi who handles obstacles in an admirable way.
Was Ezra annoying at some parts? Sure he was. But 1) he also started out as a teenager, so no surprise about him being whiny and disrespectful now and then. 2) Some episodes, like "Empire Day" and "Gathering Forces", show how vulnerable Ezra actually is, how lonely and sad he still is after the loss of his parents, and that his cockiness seems to be a way of dealing with this pain and preventing others from getting close to him. I remember that he starts to open up to Hera and the others only after these two episodes, where the other Ghost Crew-members and the audience finally learn what exactly happened to Ezra's parents.
Honestly, if a character already starts out as 100% likeable with barely any negative features, there is hardly room for positive development for them. And to be honest, I had some sympathy for Ezra aka Space Blueberry from the start. So, even if he wasn't always likeable, Ezra was a good character from the start, in my opinion
