Thank you internet for allowing people to hide behind their screens so they can project the nastiness in their hearts without fear of being punched in the face for it.
In all seriousness though, I had no idea this was such a controversy until yesterday. I was talking to my brother about it, and we both came to the conclusion that it’s still too early to render judgement. Ingram is also very new to acting, so it makes sense that it would take a little bit for her to start nailing her role. Admittedly, I’ll say she didn’t execute well on about half of her scenes (at this time I haven’t seen Part 3 yet). But I do think that she’ll improve as we go along. In between her misses, we see flashes of potential from Reva as a character.
I’ll be really disappointed to see this go the same way the incident with Kelly Marie Tran went in 2017-18. Even though I don’t think KTM has any acting talent, she didn’t deserve any of that. Plus all it will do is sow further division. We don’t need to give any more ammo to the obnoxious pro-Disney shills who want to vilify and cancel anyone who disagrees with them. And more importantly, harassment is just wrong.
Obviously I don’t have any real influence over anyone here, but just a couple words for the wise: if you’re about to post something, whether here or on any other social platform, look over it and see if that’s something you would say in person. If it’s not, maybe don’t hit send.
