The empire! In tv and movie media, the empire’s often portrayed as either a bunch of brainless twits who can’t tell up from down (see Star Wars Rebels) or they’re portrayed as full on evil doers. In both legends and canon comics their are imperials that are truly good people who are fighting for a cause they believe in or they’ve lost someone dear to them due to the rebellion. This is one of the reasons I’m super excited for Andor, because we’ll finally get to see the brutality of the empire.
Edit: The legends New Republic and Imperial Remnants are a close second though given that most people who don’t read legends don’t know a thing about them.
They barely show the new republic one of the reasons I didn't like the last 2 movies was cause they kinda just threw the first order in and said heres a new bad guy. I mean I kinda forgot that there was even a republic at that time cause they never showed it often enough. now note im only talking about the movies
The CIS were actual separatists. What do you think they were just pretending to secede? Aside from Dooku pretty much every separatist leader had a genuine desire to forge a new Galactic nation even if it was for personal gain.
^ I think OP meant outside of the actual military and stuff, like you get a few episodes showing the actual CIS government in TCW and those episodes were actually pretty neat in how they handled things
Anyway the Canon New Republic basically doesn't exist, like, at all, which is frankly just weird
