I have to go with Dooku because his role in The Clone Wars was very good compared to Maul's

Definitely Dooku, his character is amazing. As a former Jedi who saw the corruption in the Jedi order and sought collaboration with Palpatine to bring order and peace in the galaxy. Maul in comparison is just a raging monster out for vengeance and nothing else.

Can't wait to see more of Dooku in tales of the Jedi

Yes Kylo was indirectly trained by palpy through Snoke it still does not make Palpys apprentice thats not how that works. Its more that palpy wanted Kylo to become his apprentice and anyway in TLJ and TROS Ots made clear that Kylo had no interest in the Sith and in fact given the chance its likely he would try and kill palpy and destroy the sith.

Palpatine's apprentices are not necessarily to be the Sith,many dark side adepts,ranging from inquisitors to dark side elites, are student of the Emperor,but none of them are Sith

Dooku. He has a level of sophistication that is simply not present in Maul.

Yes not all palpys apprentices were Sith but most were. The inquisitors were under Vader more and they were just used as Jedi hunters for him nothing more and not apprentices.

^^ I can agree he does have a level of sophistication and cunning that maul does not posses. But I find the brooding quality of Maul to be more enticing.

Apprentice is a very broad concept,and even the notorious hitman,Devian is considered as one of apprentice of Palpatine.Actually in both of continuities ,Palpatine had more dark Jedi apprentices than Sith apprentices,In Canon,all inquisitors were trained by Sidious at first,while in EU,Palpatine at least has dozens of Dark Jedi apprentices,including Dark Side elite ,Emperor's Hands,and also thousands of darksiders who served him
