Wow, what a great first episode! The recap at the beginning was so welcome and fresh, and it focused a lot more on Qui-Gon than I was expecting. I guarantee that we'll see Liam Neeson sometime in the show.
The Inquisitors turned out alright. The Grand Inquisitor still vaguely resembles an egg to me, but I got used to him pretty quickly. It doesn't make sense to me, though, why they didn't just CGI his face as they did to the Pau'ans in ROTS. I guess Lucasfilm is all about those "practical effects" these days, anyway. The Third Sister is great, too. I think her aggressive nature will become very interesting in the future.
The inclusion of Alderaan was brilliant. It was so great to see it in more detail than ever before. And we got Leia! Somehow, they nailed her character perfectly: Outgoing, mischievous, and a lot smarter than she looks. And that brief C-3PO cameo was great. Caught me off-guard for a second!
And that's another thing; This show barely has any cameos so far, which I LOVE. New characters are so much better than unnecessary, already-fleshed-out ones. I'm glad that Kenobi is straying away from the worrying pattern of cameos that Bad Batch, Mandalorian, and Book of Boba Fett have been suffering from lately.
I kind of freaked out when I saw the Skyhopper toy. Although Owen broke it, I hope Kenobi finds a way to give it back to him. It would make for a very cool detail when watching A New Hope.
And finally... Ewan. It was incredible and a bit surreal watching Obi-Wan onscreen again. His acting was spot-on and definitely feels like a natural progression his character would take.
These are just my ramblings having just finished the episode. I'll likely have more to say later. Overall, an excellent launching point, and I have a good feeling that things will only go up from here (especially considering what happens in episode 2!). 9/10!
