My hope would be seeing obi wan and vader fight with good cgi. but i don't want vader to be there all the time either.

Also that chase scene was corny same with reva she was annoying

That was great, a suprise to be sure, but a welcome one. The recap was pretty interesting, and I was definitely not expecting Leia. As a cameo, it honestly makes a lot of sense. I'm getting used to the Grand Inquisitor, his voice does seem a little off though. Might just be my memory. Overall, it's a great start, and I'm interested to see where it goes!

Someone on another podcast pointed out something worth mentioning here.

Owen Lars is such a badass to stand up to not only Kenobi but also stare down an inquisitor without flinching, knowing full well he could get cut down at any moment!

He was all “eff you” to Obi Wan and “eff you” to Reva. He was gonna protect his nephew at all costs and he just didn’t give a womp rat.

Thats a stand out right there!

Was I the only one who thought, upon seeing the order 66 flashbacks, that we’d also get to see what happened to Grogu?

Yes I know such a plot point makes no sense in the context of this show, but ya can’t help but think of the possibility!

^I was honestly relieved we didn’t see Grogu. We already got some glimpses of his order 66 experience in the BOBF and imo the rest of his story and his order 66 flashbacks should be told in the mandalorian.

Hang on how the f—- does Reva know Vader is Anakin? And what about the GI?

@The Senate 50 That’s just something we’ll have to wait and find out about. My assumption is that she saw Anakin first hand at the Jedi Temple and simply put two and two together. It wouldn’t surprise me if more people in the Empire actually knew Anakin was Vader, but were smart enough to keep their mouths shut.

As for the Grand Inquisitor, I highly doubt he’s actually dead considering characters have survived worse. Recently, shows have been known to retcon established information, but they tend to be on the smaller side of things. Straight up killing off the antagonist of another series set years later is a bit much.

Just watched this episode for the second time.

Wow! It’s incredible that the show is finally here. The recap at the beginning sets the tone really well and I think it will really help casual fans get into the headspace of where the show is at.

The Inquisitors were kind of incompetent in the first scene when the Jedi they’re hunting runs off without them giving chase and I find it weird that the 3rd sister seems to cross the Grand Inquisitor all the time although that could also be chalked up to them being a wildly dysfunctional organization (which they’ve always been).

I was worried about the Grand Inquisitor because of his look from the trailers and Rupert Friend’s comments about not trying to match the character’s appearance in Rebels but from his first scene it really felt like the character we know from Rebels so I’m completely on board with him now even though his look could’ve been better.

Alderaan looked fantastic. This episode really expands on the brief glimpse of the planet we get from the end of Revenge of the Sith. I am so happy we get to see young Leia and more of Bail Organa. Bail is one of my favorite minor characters and he’s absolutely brilliant in this episode. The show really nails how I would imagine a 10 year old Leia being and her interactions with her father were very well done.

Leia being kidnapped and Bail going to Obi-Wan for help is hands down the best possible way I could think of to get Obi-Wan to leave Tatooine.

When I first watched these episodes on Friday they ran together in my head but after having just watched this one I can definitely see why they decided to air the first two at once because while Ewan absolutely nails what we get from Obi-Wan in this episode (as expected) we really don’t get that much. We see what his life is like but we already know what he’s up to so the episode focuses on setting up the other elements of the show which makes sense but leaves me wanting more of Kenobi which we get in Part II.

Overall this is a really promising start to the series.
