The fire never seemed to stop. Running along the trench lines, you would find it littered with fallen men. The screaming still haunts me. Lasers leave burns, but these bombs rip men apart. It leaves them screaming in agony as medics try to piece together whatever they can from the pile of limbs and bodies. Good thing we are all the same, otherwise men would be sent to the medical stations with the wrong arms. There was one saving grace in all the deafening explosions and rains of thrown up dirt and that was our general. He saw our suffering and pain but he knew that if we tried to retreat it would only be worse. His steeled resolve and aids to the wounded helped us get through the horrible ditch fighting mess we were stuck in. Once the shelling stop, our general knew that this was the time for us to strike back. To return all the pain and anger towards the enemy, who for all we knew thought we were all laying in the predug grave. A chorus of howlers rang out as white helmets and armor climbed up over the trench and began charging head first into the unknown, towards the enemies. If it wasn't for our general, we would have all died in that mucky ditch.
Jedi Generals were the main form of leadership during the Clone Wars. Woefully unprepared for this military role, many became failures as generals and cost the republic major battles and had lost countless soldiers. On the other hand, some became revered tacticians and even more skilled warriors and leaders. These Jedi earned a reputation as being the turning points in the war. Those who were not so great, were looked upon with disgust, mistrust, and anger by their soldiers as they sent them into battle without much reason, just hoping that the brute force of the military was enough to overcome any odds. A few yet gained the reputation of being a clone killer or hater by deploying tactics that purposely killed the most amount of clones possible while still maintaining a victory. These Jedi saw clones as nothing more than organic droids designed to carry a blaster and die at their command. This wide arrange of skills sets by the Jedi led to a reputation of incompetency by anyone outside of the Jedi order. However, besides the outliers, many Jedi became revered warriors on the battlefield which were celebrated by their troops.
