I don't really understand the hate for TBOBF. I saw his character arc as character growth - realizing that always fighting isn't the way to live and that relationships are important.

^ TL;DR everyone expects Boba, and well, most characters to stay completely the same even after extended periods of time or traumatic events...

Even though the only reason Boba was the way he is was because of a traumatic event, that being his father dying.

A similar traumatic experience (the fall in the Sarlacc) would have huge consequences

If there's one thing to gripe about TBoBF, it's not where they went with Boba's character

TBoBF suffers from not really explaining the shift all that well (since they didn't give themselves enough time to do it on account of kickstarting Mando Season 3 way too early which was another thing) but like the actual character shift is fine

^ Similar logic applies to Canon Luke, though it's more shaky since unlike Boba who actually had those events happen, Luke saw a vision, wildly misinterpreted it, and then went nuts over it...

But then again that seems to be a running theme with Skywalkers considering Anakin did that too and Luke's famously bad at it?

Finn's character was wasted

I think everyone was done dirty except maul he's just overused as a villain so the heroes can progress their story and character hence why he usually loses

Boba was done dirty because he was so brutal in legends continuity going toe-to-toe with the likes of Vader and left basically unscathed and in the BoBF he took a more or less pacifist route when needed. Finn was done dirty because he had such potential to become a Jedi protégé but he was basically told to fuck off for like 2 and a bit hours. But Greivous, Greivous was done the dirtiest out of them all. In legends of EU continuity he killed well over 200 Jedi and in the clone wars he was taken down with purple water balloons and spears. how fuckin; sad :(
