It has it's faults but I'd highly recommend it. The characters and story are great and it serves as a nice way to bridge the gap between the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy.

It’s a little slow sometimes but pretty good overall. I haven’t read it in a while.

If you only read two, read Life Debt and Empire’s End

If you read all three, then even better.

They are okay but there are some good storylines in there. It explains the contingency and tells the story of the battle of Jakku. Oh and Mr Bones. I wouldn't recommend it to a non SW fan though...

No: all it is is an explanation for the sorry state of the galaxy in the Disney Star Wars.

No, it's like a 5 year old wrote it, the plot is incomprehensible, the expressions used to describe things are immature and nonsensical, the story is about nothing, there are much better books to look for, if you want pre-TFA stories, check Bloodlines, at least that is competently written and has a story.

There's also the upcoming Shadows of the Sith novel with Luke and Lando, i'd say get Bloodlines, read it, and get Shadows when it comes out as well.
