^That Vanity Fair cover put a huge smile on my face! So many upcoming tv shows to look forward to! I’m literally getting goosebumps as we get closer to Kenobi!

@Swatteam123 Totally agree about Andor. I want grim Empire stuff. That little glimpse of Mimban in Solo was unfairly short.

I'm excited about these new shows, but I'm also concerned. I know, I shouldn't be so pessimistic, but in the next two to four years, we're getting eight new shows, three confirmed seasons of shows, and two new movies, not even counting the six movies that have no release dates. That's a lot of Star Wars.

I'm worried that quantity over quality will become the new norm, and that we'll begin praying with every release that it turns out good. I feel like a lot of these shows have been influenced heavily by the fans. Fans clamored for a Boba Fett movie, and when we got a show, it was, well, not very good. We got The Bad Batch due to the love fans had for The Clone Wars, and that was lesser than expected as well. To me, Star Wars is becoming less like a treat that only comes every few years to an endless stream of content, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And to be honest, I kind of miss the days when all we had were six movies and an animated TV show.

And really, do all these shows justify their own existence? Is there a reason why the TV show format is a better outlet than, say, a comic for these stories? Take Andor. It sounds like a cool show, but why a TV show? What could you do with the story in a show that wouldn't work in a comic or book? Is it just to beef up the catalog, or is there a purpose? What about Lando? Why does that need to exist? What more does it do for Lando's character and the larger galaxy? How could you explore that character in a way that has depth and meaning? Book of Boba Fett has already shown that TV shows about side characters don't always work. And even Obi-Wan Kenobi? Does it exist solely to "give the fans what they want" and have a cool Obi-Wan vs Vader fight? Is it just a way to get Ewan back? Or is there a significant story that can be told that deserves a TV show? These are the questions I hope the writers have thought about.

I'm sorry for rambling, but I had to get my thoughts out before they disappeared. I sincerely hope there's a concise plan for all this media besides making Disney+ more appealing for potential buyers.

@ArtooD2 I can definitely relate to your quantity over quality points because in a lot ways I share similar feelings and I do hope the next year or two proves these concerns wrong. I’m going to be the optimist here and hope (and pray) that the mess known as the BOBF was the writers trying out a format/idea. Since said idea wasn’t well received, hopefully the writers can adjust and improve for their future shows.

For example, Andor should specifically be focused on the title character and as these recent have suggested it seems like that’ll be the case. Andor and Lando are characters that imo could definitely benefit from more onscreen content especially for the fans who don’t have the time or willingness to read their comics and novels. My point is that these shows need to focus on the story they’re trying to tell and not “fan service”. We’ve already seen what pure fan service looks like and it largely robbed Boba in his own show. Anyways I’m hopeful for the future but I’m also prepared for the worst case scenario.

I come from a childhood that only had three films and three appalling spin offs (2x Ewok, 1x holiday) all taped off the telly. I was starved of screen content and I wished for more. When more came it was the less than satisfying PT. Because of that being so poor in so many ways, I got used to compromising on quality.

In my opinion, almost everything Disney has done is better than TPM and AOTC.

So I'm in camp 'bring me screen content'. Disney can sort out quantity, I'll watch it all happily and do my own quality filtering.

I know. I've loved Marvel since I used to rob my brother's comics but there is plenty of sub-par in there. Overall, however, it is worth it for highlights like GotG, Dr Strange and Taika's Thor.
