A picture simply can tell most my thought
@Harrisonpiano I can’t speak for everyone else but I’ll tell you why I have an issue with Ahsoka’s continued appearance. For starters the difference between Anakin and Obi Wan and Ahsoka is unlike Ahsoka, we know how their stories end, we know that their stories have a proper conclusion. Ahsoka timeline wise has been alive since before the clone wars and yet her journey and her story seems to go on without a proper conclusion because she is Dave’s first major Star Wars character creation and essentially she’s his pride and joy. All good things must come to an end but Ahsoka’s character seems to be the one exception to this fundamental statement. I love Ahsoka’s character but I’m starting to get tired of her because imo she’s survived far more than she should have. I personally thought that getting killed by Vader should’ve been the proper conclusion to her story as it would’ve really signified how far he had fallen.
@Swatteam123 I see what you mean, but I also just think Ahsoka is an interesting case in that we had an entire show (TCW) partially dedicated to telling her growth from teen padawan to full-fledged Jedi. So we’ve had the chance to see a lot of her beginnings fleshed out way more than we did Obi Wan or Anakin. So yes we’ve seen her on screen for a while and it seems like we’ve gotten so many stories of her. But that’s just because we’re in a time where there are Star Wars shows now and new characters can get explored in a way that the movies starring the prequel/OT characters couldn’t. Ahsoka’s growth as a character is different, but I wouldn’t say is necessarily a bad thing.
Just think about it. She’s only in her 40s in Mando. That STILL makes her younger than almost all our other Star Wars fan faves. There’s so much more of her story to tell and I think that should be celebrated, not frowned upon.
^Bro she's just so overused in every show you can almost predict that she's going to appear somewhere. It's like Maul and Grogu she's appearing in shows she shouldn't even be in now.
@Harrisonpiano I would agree with that if she wasn’t appearing in shows that she shouldn’t be in. Notice how she appeared in the BOBF episode that Dave directed? I’m pretty sure he’s going to find some way to put her in bad batch as well. As I’ve stated in the past I grew up watching Ahsoka’s growth and I do love her character but when she started showing up in every new Star Wars tv series (particularly BOBF) that’s when it became an issue for me. Her growth and development shouldn’t come at the expense of another character’s growth and development.
I completely agree with @Aragorn Skywalker Of House Stark on this one. The fact that he kept it coming for so many screen hours deserves credit. There were duds in both TCW and Rebels but there were some beaut moments. Live action SW for me has been great. BoBF was stoopid but there were some great bits.
Often my favourite bits are the fan service. Boba Fett riding a rancor into battle against a Skorponek. That is my ticket price covered right there. Maybe I'm easy to please but I'm a sucker for daft fantasy.
I think he does a great job on the overall storyline and characters. Rebels, TCW, and the Mandalorian have some of the best characters and storylines in Star Wars. When you get into the episode level, his shows also have a lot of filler or unnecessary episodes. He also takes a few seasons to get going. So I like him, but I don't think he's the savior of Star Wars or anything. I also don't think he's its destruction.
As far as Ahsoka goes, I'm fine with her staying alive if there's a good story to tell. So far, that hasn't been proven, but fingers crossed for Ahsoka.
I don't like him for many of the reasons other people have mentioned. He muddled the waters with TCW and because of him Rebels was to kiddy. Ahsoka had 2 opponents in General grevious and Vader that should have killed her but he makes her opponents stupid and weak to make her survive.
Honestly he should have been properly kept on a leash like every other author and contributor was.
He is overrated and other people like John Ostrander and Hayden Blackman easily surpass him as writers.
I say he is a great creator. I am glad he worked on The Clone Wars. Rebels and Resistance. He made great shows. And I liked that he helped Jon Favreau with The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. I say he has changed the Star Wars franchise for the better. And I am looking forward to seeing what he does with Ahsoka. I would say Dave is sorta like the Star Wars version of Kevin Feige. I am glad that he has entered the franchise
He's awesome:)
What do you think?
