For me both highlight my favorite era within star wars and some of the best writing ever put into a video game. I stand by this whole heatedly despite the fact I've only ever played the first title and beat it only once following the light side path in the game.
Have they both aged well?
First off Knights of the Old Republic came out nearly 20 years in that it released July 15th, 2003 which I would argue aged pretty well considering the time it released. This game almost has a pull similar to the force that compels me to play this game at least once a year maybe more. I'm ever going as far as to say that both of these games had better writing than 7 hours and 10 minutes that the sequels had. Knights of the Old Republic 2 The Sith Lords came out December 4th, 2004, 4 months before I was born. And this game has certainty aged well. Hell I haven't even played it and I love the game I mainly know the plot of this game because of YouTuber who have done game play series of these games. So, yes; a resounding yes that both of these games aged well.
Do I have fond memories from these games?
Yes I do. Meeting Darth Malak for the first time alongside Carth Onasi and Bastila Shan and hearing the brooding and vile laugh as we enter his crucible..
"Ha-ha-ha! I hope you weren't thinking of leaving so soon, Bastila. I've spent far too much energy hunting you and your companions to let you get away from me now. Besides, I had to see for myself if it was true. Even now I can hardly believe my eyes... tell me, why did the Jedi spare you? Is it vengeance you seek at this reunion?
Seeing Malak's interdictor class-cruiser looming above Taris mere ours before bombarding the planet was also cool to see. Seeing that then having to gun down waves upon scores of their fighter was a cool mission. Pretty much anything to do with the sith in that game brought out some cool memories and each of them told a story. as the force begins to expose itself within Revan they begin to unfold in front of you and that final scene where Malak knows the former republic soldier now revealed as Revan they all make sense.
Regarding Knights of the Old Republic 2 as I have stated I haven't played the game ever so making any real connections with the title pretty much impossible. But here are a few scenes that I found to be awesome while watching someone else play the game. When we are first introduced to Darth Sion in the game we hear a Republic med bay officer speaking about the looming and rather foreboding presence she feels on the ship. After a while strange things begin to happen as crew aren't showing up for their shifts and suddenly Sion breaks out of the kolto tank and wreaks havoc on the ship and its crew. Sort of like Darth Maul at the end of the clone wars. When Sion boards Nihilus' ship to betray him we can see just how fucked Sion is when Nihilus emits red force lightning and throws Sion around like a rag doll its awesome.
Anyways I just wanted to ask you opinion about these games because they are both of my favorite star wars games of all time. Both are really well received as far as I've seen, so what's you opinion.
