So, the people who are mass murderers, people who use the dark side of the force that eats them up (pause) until there is nothing left, those same people known for destroying planets and committing the worse atrocities and only comparable to the Yuuzhan Vong, should be allowed to live with normal people? Yikes I think you need a reality check, the Sith are literally evil
Even two (ish) managed to fuck up the galaxy a couple of times. Equal numbers with Jedi was an unfun mix too.
But hey maybe they are misunderstood.
^^ When you think about it, the main reason for that was war. Unlike the Jedi, they were willing to make a lot more sacrifices, and although sometimes it is a little more than just sacrifices, it is still done for a reason. They never wake up like "Eyo, steve, u down for some killin today?" They actually do what they do for a cause. Since the Jedi are running in and just assuming their role as the 'good guys' (we all saw how that turned out), everyone just instantly thinks the generally smarter ones are the 'bad guys'. And are we forgetting that when the death star was blown up by 'the good guys', all those people still died? Surely, not everyone on the death star were mass murderers, and could simply be innocent men who were forced to do the empire's bidding?
That's often debated. If you do a Google search for the key words, you'll find some past discussion threads.
^^"the main reason for that was war" From what I remember, it's usually the Sith who start wars to begin with, so I don't really see what you're trying to argue here.
"Unlike the Jedi, they were willing to make a lot more sacrifices" Yeah, Sith tend to sacrifice others for their personal gain. Now, how does that speak in their favor?
"They actually do what they do for a cause." Well, to be honest, who doesn't? But surely there is a difference between acting on selfish motivations and acting in the interest of others, of the greater good etc. Now, the latter is usually not something that can be applied to the Sith.
I honestly don't see the connection between the Jedi being the good guys and "how that turned out". Could you elaborate on that?
Regarding the stormtroopers on the Death Star, I'd agree that they were probably not all as bad as their commanders but since they were serving the Empire, they technically also supported the Empire and what they were doing. So, it's rather a stretch to call them innocent, in my opinion. And I don't remember Canon hinting at them being forced to serve the Empire, unlike the First Order did, for example. From what I know did the Empire mainly depend on the recruitment of volunteers. So, again, a stretch to assume they were forced to do that.
To clarify, it's certainly understandable to be intrigued by the Sith. They are definitely interesting figures to learn about (that is, in theory, of course). But defending them and saying they are somehow better than the Jedi or similar is an argument I find very strange and hard to comprehend
Due to the fact that I am an overthinking, anti-social, introverted, timid little brat, I would like to withdraw from from this discussion and delete my biased, rather dumb and pointless arguments which make no sense. Good day to you all, kind friends. Have a lovely day/night.
@NozzyNotFunny For once I agree with you on something. The Sith are pure evil. They kill left and right. I wouldn’t be able to HURT someone without feeling tremendous guilt.
Not really. Even though I am really good at keeping my emotions in check, staying calm most of the time, and I have unlimited patience, as well as I have never felt hatred for anyone and I don't believe in revenge, I would like to do my own thing. Jedi are about helping others, and even though I like helping when I can, I like to have space to do my own thing.
@UrLocalBookwormInATrashCan I didn't mean to scare you off, lol. Apologies if my comment came off a bit aggressive. No need to beat yourself up over this; it's only an online discussion. I've had trouble expressing my thoughts before, too. And building arguments take practice (I've probably made myself a fool more than once on the Wook and definitely in real life, lol; but in the end, didn't stop me from arguing/discussing. It comes with practice).
But I find honestly your wish of withdrawing understandable, so, have a lovely day/night, too
^^could be a lazy jedi or just a jedi who does what they want
What do you think?
