I love the Rule of two story and how the sith hid in the dark
Bane is def. N° 1 One of my favorite SW trilogies, Bane is just an amzing character and I think we can never know enough of the sith cause "the dark side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural"
2. Is the High Republic Trilogy for me. I really enjoyed it.
3. The og Thrawn trilogy, I'm not a big thrawn fan, but he was badass and I loved it.
I haven't read the ascendancy trilogy. Does it take place after Zahns first trilogy?
@Twi'lekDude66 No, it's a prequel trilogy to it. It begins with his time in the Ascendancy before the first book. I haven't finished it yet, but so far, it's pretty good. Definitely recommend it.
Bane.
Thrawn [Legends] Trilogy: an absolute masterpiece, one of the few series I've read in Star Wars where virtually every plotline comes to a head at the conclusion. Incredible character development and dilemma. Nearly all the new characters introduced were majorly important, and had impact long after the trilogy. This is that rare series where as cool as the titular character is, they're not the only great new character. No one gets sacrificed to make Thrawn look better.
Darth Bane trilogy: it peaked in book 1, but still rather good until the end. It's a bit, comicbooky, with lots of cool moments that don't matter too much later. Still it's a series with a great beginning and very solid middle. The ending is ok, but as it didn't get the Sequel it was clearly trying to set up we end up with a lot of loose ends.
Thrawn Ascendancy trilogy: overall still a great story, but it felt very held back by what Disney/Lucasfilm would allow. So it felt a bit safe at times. I wish Zahn had a lot more creative freedom. I still love though how Zahn went out of his way to get it to work with the Legends timeline if you want to headcanon it that way. Zahn is walking a very fine line but doing so better than just about anyone else could.
High Republic series: not gonna lie, I hated the first book. Boring villain and dull heroes. Only skimmed the others. Felt like it was written by people absolutely trying to recontextualize everything Star Wars is and basically stealing from other authors. I hate how they're trying to weaponize hyperspace and how they did it was bloody dumb. Somehow worse than that is that the books barely feel connected at all. It's like every author is just carving out an area and doing their own thing with boring characters.
OG Thrawn Trilogy remains the best.
I've only read two, so the Ascendancy trilogy. I actually think that the Legends Thrawn trilogy is better, but I was a much bigger fan by the time I read the Ascendancy trilogy
Well, why nearly everyone ignores The Dark Lord Trilogy, the perfect combination of great novels of James Luceno and Matthew Stover?
^That's cause it wasn't written or sold as a trilogy at release. It was a Del Rey rebranding to sell a 3-in-1 novel paperback years after the books came out that branded it as such.
@AnonymousJawa Ok, thanks, I'll put it on my list.
What do you think?
