I love the clones and the Battle of Geonosis but the rest of the movie is slow. TPM gets my vote here.
^^ I’m so excited for Acolyte
^Same!
@TheD00dlebug everything you said isn't only a problem in AotC these are problems all Prequels have, but I think AotC is way more interesting than PM. PM is pretty boring imo. In AotC we have the Speeder scene at the beginning (one of my fav. SW scenes in general), Anakin rescuing his mother (also one of the best scenes in SW, it symbolizes anakins fall to the dark side way better, than the jedi temple raid.), Kenobi visiting Kamino and his battle vs Jango ( Jango is one of my favorite Bounty hunters so I liked that scene a lot), the factory scene, the arena scene (is there something cooler than action with lightsabers?!), Ani and Obi vs Dooku, Yoda vs Dooku, Anakins marriage (not that special, but also symbolizes anakin ignoring the jedi order), and the fricking start of the CLONE WARS! (The best period in SW). Also details like the plans of the death star, Dookus will to betray his master and Sifo-Dyas make AotC my fav. SW movie. Yeah dialogues are bad, the bad acting is cause of the dialogues (most of the time) and as I said the other things are a problem of the prequels in general.
@Twi'lekDude66 the other prequels DO suffer from those problems, for sure. The trilogy is pretty bad all around, but whereas RotS has a mostly well done plot and great acting, and Phantom Menace has the basic structure and set-pieces of a better film, AotC is just a mess. The story bounces around with very little forethought, and the writing is the worst of the trilogy. The entire sequence of C3-P0 on Geonosis is the worst thing in the entire franchise. I honestly can't think of a single worse part in any Star Wars media.
I agree that the prequel trilogy, as a whole, suffers from.all the things I listed, but AotC suffers the worst.
That's not to say I don't enjoy it for what it is. I also love the beginning chase, and parts of Geonosis are great. I also really like the ending duel. But these highlights can't overshadow the truly bad portions of the film.
But if you like it then, as I said about Solo: more power to you, I'm glad someone enjoys it as much as I wish I did.
I enjoyed Attack of the Clones
But I also like The Phantom Menace as well
Ep. 1 is one of the most underrated SW movies. Ep. 2 is one of my least favorites. Bad dialogue with subpar action compared to the rest of the series… other than the sequels, 2 is one of my least favorites.
Doodlebug had a great response by the way.
@TheD00dlebug Yeah, I can understand your problem with C-3PO in AotC, but I would say you can compare him to Jar-Jar in PM. I would even say Jar-Jar is worse but that's just my opinion. I think the cinematography in AotC is the best in the Sequel trilogy, but in the end it's again just my opinion. For me the good parts of the movie easily make up the bad parts, also with the links or "easter-eggs" I mentioned above. Also if we take a look at the main antagonist. Maul has NO character in PM. He said like two sentences in the whole movie. We also didn't know much about Dooku but way more and he wasn't only a force sensitive assasin.
What do you think?
