@TheMaster3888 Good question. I decide based on who the person is, themselves. It’s not so much the pfp or any other factor as it is who I want to honor by drawing something for them. It’s my way of giving them a spotlight and of expressing my gratitude to them for whatever reason it might be.

Drawing Wookieepedian’s Profile Pictures: Ajjviolin96

After skipping a week to gather myself, I drew @Ajjviolin96 who, until a few hours ago, chose the fiddler on the roof to represent her!

Aí Yaí Yaí, where do I begin? From when I first started this series, I had always wanted to draw AJJ’s pfp, but I knew that I would most certainly fail due to the sky and my lack of skill using color, let alone a picture whose color is so important, and my fear kinda came to be a reality. It’s not horrendous, but I wish I could have done better. I also wished that I had done better with the fiddler, himself, but it is what it is. On the bright side, this drawing, overall went better than expected. Since the color wasn’t going to be perfect, I decided to be more expressive with the style of sky that I did rather than try to copy the original exactly and I’m pretty proud of what became of that idea.

I can still recall my first encounter with AJJ. I was in a bit of an Ahsoka phase and had put up a post asking this community when Ahsoka became a favorite character for them, and there, AJJ linked her fateful essay on Ahsoka. I was surprised and honored that someone would share such an extensive paper with me, and, as a matter of fact, it was the first Star Wars essay I had read, and it later inspired me to write essays of my own. AJJ’s essay introduced me to her in a way, and shortly later, I made another post and, lo and behold, AJ commented on it and it hit me hard. She wrote something that made me start to think further about Anakin and about his problems and about my problems. And it has lead me to where I am now, and it’s an interesting place to be. I have come far, but have a lot to learn and, surely, a long winding path that goes deeper still. It is beyond unbelievably incredible that, I would make those insignificant posts, AJ to say those words, and for me to have been found something that is the greatest thing I could possibly find: God.

God used you in my life, AJ, and it’s ridiculous that my crummy drawing that I tried so hard on is the only way I can think of to say thank you.

Thank you guys for sticking with this series for its entirety! I’m certainly not saying that this is going to be the end of the series, but I have finished what I set out to do, and, as of right now, don’t have any more pfps planned. I may draw more in the future, we’ll just have to see.

Honestly, I'm blown away by your drawing of the fiddler. It seems fairly complicated to draw, particularly those small details like the violin, and yet, you did a superb job once again. Don't you call your drawings "crummy", they are far from being that!

Ajj does indeed show a great insight in philosophical topics. While I haven't read all that many essays of her so far (they are just so long and complex, I have to find time to read them!), I've learned much from her comments on discussion threads, especially about how the Force works. It's always interesting to engage with her in a conversation since she seems to have so much knowledge and I've always found it pleasant to chat with her.

^^Impressive drawing as always Infantry! Seeing such amazing talent all over the Wook makes me want to reawaken my artistic side. The problem is finding time to sit down and actually do the drawing thing lol. I also admire Ajj’s philosophical comments as well as her welcoming nature. I’ve always respected her ability to know when to be objective and when to let personal basis take the wheel. This is something I try to emulate but I still struggle with it. Anyways keep up the great work Infantry!

I've been going through a pretty tough time myself recently. Like you, I find myself doubting the goodness of my heart. Don't give up! (P.S.) If you don't know it already, I highly recommend that you watch the film that Ajj's pic is taken from- Fiddler on the Roof. Scored by the great Mr. Williams... it is quite frankly a masterpiece! Topol IS Tevye, the songs are pure gold and the Jewish culture that the film embraces is just so rich and alluring! Absolutely BRILLIANT!

It is really ironic that in this exact day you finally got the opportunity to share your drawing of my pfp here. If I knew this was your gift to me, I wouldn’t have changed it today to the one I’m using right now (the reasons behind that are implicit in my bio). But it’ll be only for a day, since it is a special occasion. I might use your drawing though for Halloween, lol.

As Aragorn pointed out, it gives some impressionist vibes by the pallet of colors, and how you combined them with “the shadow” of the fiddler. Getting the colors of sunset is not that easy, but I liked the contrast. You also could have taken some “creative liberty” and add another sun, just a little above the other, and make it a “binary sunset”, as if I was playing the Force Theme, lol. Actually, this is something I plan to do at least once in my life: play the Force theme on a roof during a sunset, cosplayed as a Jedi, edit it later to add another sun in it, and share it as a story on Instagram, lol. I think it would be really cool.

Draw only whenever you feel the wish to do it again, Infantry. I hope other exemplary users will inspire you in time. It is also a pleasure to have you as a virtual friend. I’ve also learned a lot from you. Once again, I appreciate your gift.
