@Imperial Cipher Have you even read your own username? Clearly you would.
I would go, so I could ask Krennic if he could say just once,
”Are we blind? Deploy the birthday wishes!!”
Oh, I think joining the fight is definitely worth it, but it's always easier to say you'd be willing to sacrifice yourself while being at a safe place than when you actually are at battle. I'd hope I'd have the courage to join the rebels, but I've never been (fortunately) in a situation where my conviction has actually been tested in such a way, so it's hard to say how I'd actually react.
I don't blame anyone for saying no (except if they refuse to fight for the rebels because their loyalty lies with the Empire), but I don't think it's entirely impossible for me to gather up the courage to join the fight, so I daresay yes in this case. I'd definitely be terrified, but hopefully, my convictions are stronger than the fear
Well, they managed to get the plans without me. So, why waste my life like that?
No. They still win.
Yup.
I wouldn't help them. Honestly, I probably wouldn't even be a part of the Rebellion or the Empire. I've already experienced what being in the military can get you. I'd probably just keep my head down and try to live as normal a life as I can.
No.
I wouldn’t be part of the Empire or the Rebels. Both are basically military dictatorships. Especially knowing that i am going to die just for another worthless and corrupt republic to be formed. I agree that the Rebels were built on hope, but they still had the same seed of corruption planed within them:
it smell like victory
^^agreed. The Empire was a fascist dictatorship but the Alliance was very flawed as well.
The original goal of the first rebel cells like the Partisans and Phoenix Squadron/Cell was to take down the empire in local areas. For the Partisians it was Onderon and for Phoenix Squadron, it was the Lothal Sector. But after they established the “Alliance to Restore the Republic” (stupid name by the way) they bureaucratized. We can clearly see in Rogue One that Alliance High Command was a bunch of senators from the flawed and corrupt Republic Senate and very few military officers who voted on what to do. And for most of them, there goal was to “restore the Republic” as the Alliance’s official name suggests. They just wanted things to go back to how they were before the Trade Federation Invasion of Naboo.
And they achieved this stupid dream of theirs. After Endor and Jakku, the New Republic was just the Galactic Republic behind a new name. Mon Mothma was elected the first chancellor and that was that. She lost her marbles and demilitarized the Republic and all hell broke loose. The New Republic Senate was so careless to the point where they knew about the First Order but didn’t care… I can keep going on but you get the point.
What do you think?
