I was rewatching the Mandalorian episode: The Marshal when I heard the most epic song for the Tusken Raiders. It has a certain war-cry fierceness essence to it, and not a barbaric-ness that the sand people are known, which I found interesting. I loved how that Mandalorian episode made the Raiders a lot more”humanized” instead of just seeming cruel, unintelligent, and evil like they originally did with me. It shows their culture and way of life to a point that I think they are a really interesting civilization that is misunderstood. The episode alsomy speaks to the viewer to this point, because everyone in the show, like me, think the Tusken Raiders are bad, but when Mando speaks their language we are surprised how civilized they are, and that they have honor. I think I’d be super awesome to see a Tusken force wielder or main protagonist at some point.
On another note, I am super upset that they didn’t include the theme I listed above in the actual Season 2 score! There were many times when watching season 2 where I thought the score was going to be a blast to listen to when it came out, but when it did, it was a condensed version that didn’t have any of the cool motifs I heard.
Anyways, in conclusion, I think Ludwig perfectly captured the Sand People with the theme, and just wanted to share it with you all, today.
