Battlefront 2 (2017) - 9/10
I'm a big fan of the game, primarily starfighter combat. The lightsaber combat is simple, but also great, and the shooting is fantastic, however, I think it could do better if players were more mobile. I often encounter cheaters sadly (on PC at least). The graphics are absolutely stunning and I'd consider it and Squadrons easily the best-looking SW games, although they are a bit demanding so you might need a good PC to play it. The music is very pleasing. The campaign story was good but not amazing, but the campaign itself was very fun to play aside from a few features missing from it.
Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga - 9/10
This game is very cartoonish and very cute. It's a lego game that recreates the OT and PT. The controls on PC could be better considering they don't support mice but they get the job done good enough. The game is pretty funny and it doesn't get boring for a while. The graphics are not great considering it's older than a decade but that doesn't harm the gameplay and the design is well done.
Dark Forces 1 - 6.5/10
It's a good game to play every now and then when you're bored but it's not something I would complete again. The graphics make the game a bit hard to play considering they are 2.5D. The controls of the base game aren't great but they can be upgraded with mods. If you intend to play the game, I'd recommend you use Dark Forces DeHacker, DarkXL, or TheForceEngine. The game does have a pretty good story though.
Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight - 8/10
The graphics of the base game look very ugly, to be frank, but luckily there's a mod called Jedi Knight Remaster which upscales the models and textures by a large margin, which makes the game a lot more playable. Other than that, the controls work well and the story is very good. I think the lightsaber combat isn't the best, and the force powers and getting them are a bit limited, but the shooting is fun, the lightsaber gameplay is certainly good enough, and it's an enjoyable game. It has an expansion/sequel called Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith, but I haven't played it enough to review it.
Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast - 9/10
Just a note but the names for this series get pretty confusing considering they went from Dark Forces to Jedi Knight with numbers and then without when they went to Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Anyway, I'm a big fan of this game. It runs on id Tech 3 which means it's easy to mod, and it's very customizable. The game is a pioneer in terms of lightsaber combat because of how complex the swinging is based on where you look and move at what style you use and the force powers are also very varied. The controls are easy to switch and they work very well when configured to your liking. The graphics are fine but not amazing. One of the places I didn't expect it to shine in was the story. It got me hooked almost instantly and I had to power through to find out how it continued. Sadly, the story was one of the only things driving me through much of the game because many of the missions have very poorly designed levels. Other than that though, it's a game I would highly recommend. Despite the fact that it is a shooter-like game, it manages to pack in a lot of ambiance which makes it very immersive.
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy - 10/10
I adore this game. It's based on an improved version of Jedi Outcast's engine which means the mechanics and gameplay are akin to that game but enhanced and improved, but Raven Software also added a lot more when they developed the game, including double-bladed and dual-wield sabers, more powers, and fewer bugs. The story is ok but not good, it didn't really have my attention, however, that's about the only large negative characteristic. The maps are much better than Jedi Outcast, and most are a lot of fun to play. The music is great, and it changes based on how you play the game. Jedi Academy has a lot of customization. You can choose what your character looks like and what species it is, you can choose whether you want to pursue a light or dark ending, and you can choose your playstyle. With all that considered, it seems like a very good game, but where it truly shines is in mods. As mentioned with Jedi Outcast, the engine is extremely easy to mod, and given it is the last of the Jedi Knight series and that it came out nearly 20 years ago, there are an immeasurable amount of amazing mods available for the game, including OpenJK, Galactic Legacy, Movie Duels, Movie Battles, Jedi Academy Enhanced, and Serenity Jedi Engine, and Dark Pastime, just to name a few. The community is also very alive and you can find multiplayer servers always active.
Knights of the Old Republic 1 - 10/10
Anyone who knows me knows I am crazy for this series, and for good reason. The graphics are very good for the time, the gameplay, while dividing amongst fans, is something I personally love, and it's an RPG so the amount of lore added through items and different story choices is huge. The place it really shines is the story. Not only is it magnificent and a true Star Wars story, but the amount of choice you have in the game elevates the story as you can play for many playthroughs and still make new choices to go towards a new story. The music is also absolutely gorgeous, it always manages to put the player in the correct mood, be it the calming music of Manaan's surface, the nostalgic music of the game's amazing twist and the last planet, or the pumping music of the final battle. The community is also very dedicated and has put out a lot of mods for the game, including one that K1 Restoration. This game is one I have played for hundreds of hours and would wholeheartedly recommend even to people that aren't fans of video games.
Knights of the Old Republic 2 - 11/10
As with KOTOR 1, I absolutely love this game. It builds upon the gameplay of its predecessor, including many new force powers and upgrades, and this adds significantly more playstyles. It adds many more locations to visit, and as its predecessor did, it adds a giant amount of lore. But the best thing by far that is new to this game is the story. Sufficed to say, it challenges everything you thought you knew about how Star Wars works and I place the story on the same level as the OT. It is absolutely amazing and thought-provoking and it is the #1 reason for my rating. Sadly, the game was unfinished because it was rushed, however, an incredible team took many of the unfinished files left on the original Xbox CDs and turned it into a mod called TSLRCM (The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod). If you plan to play this game, use it, along with any of the other many mods created by the dedicated fanbase for this game and this series. You might not like this series since it's an RPG, but I implore you to try.
The Force Unleashed 1 - 8/10
This game does combat and story great. Its main mechanic in lightsaber combat is combo moves. Essentially, attacks can be chained together with other lightsaber attacks or force powers and movement, and it makes for a very skillful experience. The graphics are fine but sadly the game is locked at 30 FPS by default, however, fixes are available. The story is a bit simple, but it is touching and the characters are relatable. I would definitely recommend this. The game does have a sequel which I have played and finished, but frankly, it's awful and I wouldn't recommend the sequel.
Jedi: Fallen Order - 9/10
This game is truly amazing in many different respects. The lore it brings to Canon is extremely interesting, specifically the ancient species featured in the game. The story is great, with many moments that might make you rethink your thoughts on certain characters. The graphics, while not on par with Battlefront 2 and Squadrons in my opinion, are still very good, however, it runs in Unreal Engine 4 which means it is a very demanding game hardware-wise. The combat is also beautifully executed. It feels like a true spiritual successor to The Force Unleashed because it implements combo moves as the main way to progress your attacks in the game, although you can also achieve upgrades to your arsenal found directly through gameplay. The environments are easy to get lost in but I find that most of the exploring is still satisfying and revealing. I would recommend this but only to someone with a device that has the might to run it.
