If anyone saw the most recent conversation in Ask A Mod—the one thread absolutely everyone should follow and pay attention to—they’ll know that a big part of our work as mods is just editing posts to a common title format that uses emojis followed by the classic bracketed keywords.
However, there are years’ worth of posts that don’t follow this format, ended up in wrong categories, were made when wiki tags didn’t exist, have outdated link formatting, and suffer from other issues produced by platform additions throughout the years. Not even all posts had titles in the early days.
@Spooder-Man777’s Telosian Restoration Project was created to restore these old posts, continue their discussions, and apply some of their best aspects to conversations today.
Unfortunately, it was difficult to actually find old posts to restore and continue. That’s where we as a user base come in and what this project is about. Just like how the Empire used probe droids to find the rebel base, I'm asking you to swarm out and uncover old forum threads.
@Jade Moonstroller has done tremendous work in compiling important posts throughout the forum’s history in his Project Overlook, which is now a gold mine for old users’ work not yet in his archives.
Here are the steps to finding more old threads like this.
Start by reading through an accessible old thread.
Look at the bios of all the users in the thread for links.
Look through users' histories for posts.
Save the links to these posts and any existing series archives.
Post the links here, explain what needs formatting, and mention the users who originally created the posts.
If you also want to search for random old posts with Fandom’s web search feature, see the search guide thread.
The end goal is to supply the Telosian Restoration Project with as many old posts as possible and truly take advantage of this community's rich history to better ourselves as online users.
Happy searching!
