I'll go first for this thread.

I'm currently reading Light of the Jedi and will finish it this weekend.
From what people have said across the forum, it's an awesome book and serves as a great introduction to the High Republic Era's unique challenges. I agree more and more as I read.
My favorite part so far has been the first three chapters' portrayal of the Great Disaster. Very sudden and catastrophic.
I'm learning everything as I go since it's a first-time read.

About a week ago (or so) I finished Tales From Vandor

It is good, but definitely for a young reader (I read it anyway!)

I just enjoy him telling the stories. If I had the audiobook (if there is an audiobook) I would hook it up to a snowman or something, and sit around a fire listening to him tell the story.

Dark Force Rising
It's a great book! My second legends!
I loved any scene with Leia and the Nogri, but anything with Mara Jade is great too!

I read Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void in January

I found it very vivid and descriptive but I feel like the author made everything seem too perfect on Tython. However, the character development was very good

My favorite part was when, after defeating her brother Dalien, she just sat there wondering what would happen if she activated the stargate. It shows the complexities of her motivation. It was just such a powerful moment showing how the conflict was more grey than the Je’daii would want to believe

I think it was interesting to learn more about how the Je’daii balance out the light and dark and how they operate

I finished The Truce at Bakura this afternoon (US ETC)

I think that the book was well written and that the author took some major risks in how she wrote it, and what she put in it, but honestly, it paid off. This is my first novel, and it is a very good one.

My favorite part had to have been where the Bakura Imperial Remnants betrayed the Rebellion and had that last battle. The Alliance was absolutely unexpected. I was expecting the Imperials to turn on the Rebels, yet I was surprised how they carried it out.

Yes, this is the first time I read this and learned a lot. I learned a lot more about Imperial Remnants, and a rough patch in my brain for the new sublight space travel times. I learned a bit more about the Rebel Spacesuits (Legends) which was nice. Also, the damage that can be sustained really hit me. I always thought that Vader died because of his exposed wires combined with the lightning, not just the lightning, but, Luke experienced some pain in the beginning. The parasites. Wow. Very interesting. I'm going to have to pay close attention to what I eat given by others XD. The Ssi-ruuk and P'w'eck (I think I spelled it right???) are neat. I never got the image of them until I looked at the wiki page. How about the Ssi-ruuk cruisers? I thought that they were big purple squares at first! (IDK why) but, then, I looked at the wiki page and got the image. Based on the description, it also seems that they were large, and the fleet on Bakura was only a scout force. The Mind control. Well, more like sole control. I don't like it, but don't not like it.

Overall, very an excellent book. A ton of interesting facts, and a story that will stick with me forever. It is a neat way how she wrote it, and what she put in it (as I stated before).

The Old Republic: Revan

Idk I don’t know what others opinions are about this book

My favorite part of the book was probably the moment in the cave where Scourge is talking to Revan trying to understand his vision. It was really interesting to learn Revan’s view of the Force and his unbreakable love for his wife and child were magnetic almost. It drew me in and I was suddenly enthralled in his tale

Yes I learned a lot. I didn’t know much about any of the characters because I’m hesitating over playing KOTOR I and II and TOR so I didn’t know much about any of the cast in this book

The novelisation of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
Amazing, it expands on so many things from the movies. One of the best books I’ve ever read!
Most likely the scene on the bridge of the Invisible Hand.
I learned about the geography and races of Utapau and one background information that wasn’t in the film.

The Old Republic: Revan
Revan was amazing, and it expands on KOTOR and Revan's character very well. It also gives you some story as to what happens to Revan in between his awarding ceremony of the Cross of Glory and his re-emergence from capture by Vitiate on Yavin IV in TOR.
My favorite part was definitely in chapter 23 (I think) when Scourge first gets to the Emperor's Citadel--it gives you a real sense of Vitiate's power. It's between that and some of the scenes on Nathema and when Revan obliterates Nyriss.
Learned all about Revan and Canderous and them. This was before I played KOTOR that I read this, so I didn't fully understand the novel until a number of months later when I played the game.

I just finished reading Kenobi by John Jackson Miller since I was in the mood for a Kenobi story for obvious reasons.

This book was published in the late EU era (2013) and is similar to others that I’ve read from that period. This is my favorite era of Star Wars publishing because books build off of both older EU stories and The Clone Wars show. This book does that pretty well.

I enjoyed this book a fair amount but I really wish it had more about Obi-Wan’s guilt since it takes place directly after Revenge of the Sith. Don’t get me wrong, we get some of that but not as much as I would have liked. It makes sense that he wouldn’t have opened up to the other characters in the novel as he couldn’t possibly trust them with his secret of being a Jedi but the book has whole sections dedicated to showing his meditations dedication to talking to Qui-Gon and I thought it was a missed opportunity to not use at least one of those as a time for Obi-Wan to articulate all of his grief.

My favorite part of the book was when Orrin tried to get Annileen to marry him by openly telling her about the financial reasons. Seeing his schemes in the light and her reaction to it was a good boiling point for those characters and I think the book does a great job with these new characters.

Some thing that stuck out to me as new tidbits of knowledge were that Ben was a name nickname that Satine called Obi-Wan. That was weird and not expanded on so I could’ve probably done without it. Another was that someone overheard Obi-Wan call himself Kenobi before he gave anyone a fake last name. This makes a lot of sense since if he was going to make an alias he should’ve changed his first and last name so that explanation was appreciated. The twin sons of Tatooine are said to have terrible aging effects on people which makes sense and is a good explanation for Obi-Wan, Owen, and Beru’s aging between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

Overall I really liked this book but I was disappointed as it didn’t go as deep into Obi-Wan’s thoughts as I would’ve liked. I’d definitely recommend it with that caveat.
