I hope that I don't clutter up the feed too much with another piece of writing, but I just felt like I should get this out.
The basis of this is that I've seen multiple posts recently about franchises competing. Star Trek and Star Wars, for example. I'm here to give my personal view on this and to possibly encourage others to look at things another way.
Star Trek, Star Wars, various other franchises, they tend to have fans who compete in deciding which is better. Open discussion is great. Debate with civility is a good thing, but I've seen people who are of the mind that you must choose one of the other.
Fortunately, that is not the case. By choosing one franchise over another and essentially vowing to never view anything from the closed franchise, you could be missing out on a whole new world of stories and characters, moments and inspiring messages that could have an impact on your life.
Imagine if you were a fan of another franchise and you closed yourself off to Star Wars. Never knowing who Luke Skywalker was? Or Yoda? Or witnessing the story of the force, or even seeing a lightsaber duel.
Franchises can be similar and can also be vastly different. It's a good thing to be able to keep an open mind about giving another franchise a chance. You don't have to avoid them or stick to just one.
Another thing that can give an audience pause is that fact that some may perceive them as uncool, or as lesser than them based on the choosing of one franchise over another.
My advice is to not take such opinions to heart. It's okay to value the advice of others, but you shouldn't let someone make you feel less than you are if you like, say, Star Trek, for example.
There are so many wonderful franchises out there and so many more films, television series and other media to experience. You don't have to be confined to the liking of just Star Wars. Don't let bias block you from enjoying something new.
Obviously, you don't have to take my advice at all, but I encourage you to give other franchises a chance if the only reason that you are hesitant is because you've seen others put it up against Star Wars. You could end up liking it even more. You never know.
I apologize for any sloppiness in my last two writings, I am quite tired. Haha. Thank you for your time and for you read. I just wanted to get these posts out as I've seen some posts with negative things recently. I wish you a great day.
