Hello to you. I wanted to write a piece to hopefully give some encouragement and inspiration to those who have an interest in writing for the Essay of the Week Contest. This is not an entry in said contest, merely my thoughts on what more entries could do for the community.
I've had a mind to write this piece for a few days now and decided to go ahead and share it now. Intricate writing such as an analysis of a specific part of Star Wars or even an essay reflecting upon the themes of the franchise could lead to lively conversations.
Such writing could open the door to more posts that could inspire and help fans reflect. It could help them look at certain aspects a different way and find an entirely new enjoyment in something that they already know.
If you are having trouble, I'll try to provide you with a few pieces of advice. Pick a character that you admire. Ask yourself, what do you admire about them? What are their strengths, their flaws, their moral integrity, or even their most memorable moments?
Perhaps it's a specific piece of Star Wars technology, a lightsaber, a ship, a droid. Try to think about what interests you about the franchise and take a look into it. You may discover something that you hadn't thought about in the process of creating informative thought for others to read.
Look at the themes of the franchise. The struggles, the hope, the relationships between characters. How can you reflect upon them and use the lessons to inspire others? There are so many potential options to write about and it gives you an almost unending supply of topics to choose from.
If you are still hesitant, start slowly. Participate in conversations regarding topics that catch your attention. There is a great amount of insight to be gained in the admirable civility of complex and engaging respectable discussion.
I hope that this gives you some encouragement and inspiration in regards to posting your own pieces. You can even write things like this. Informing others of ways to use Star Wars as a conversation starter. Just express what parts of this franchise gives you lingering thought.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it and hope that it has been a helpful experience. I wish you a good day.
Again, this is not an entry for the Essay of the Week Contest, but a hopeful piece of writing to encourage those who are pondering an entry to feel free to post it. You can find more details about the contest, including the rules and past entries here.
